| Thank you to everyone who has joined PowerSellersUnite (PSU) |
PSU was “born” when eBay implemented rate increases that significantly impacted sellers large & small. The fee hikes affect buyers also, as most sellers have no choice but to pass on the eBay fees to buyers. Our focus has now shifted away from the eBay boycott in early 2005 to helping sellers, and buyers, find the best alternative auction site(s) for their needs.
PSU is a fast- growing group of online members – seasoned and new – with common goals. We enjoy a fun, fast-paced environment where all facets of e-Commerce are discussed and debated.
PSU offers site navigation tools, free auction tools, and multiple search options right from the home page!
Our discussions include web site design to best alternative auction sites. If your area of question/interest is not found, ask and you will receive!
Take a minute and join one of the fastest growing online e-Commerce communities!
If you have any news, information, or updates you want to share please contact us
Be sure to submit a link to your online store on our Users Storefronts so others can browse your store. If you do not have your own store yet we provide PSU Stores so you can have your very own e-commerce web site.
You do NOT need to be a PowerSeller to join this site. EVERYONE is welcome! |

I sell about the same amount of stuff that I used to sell when I was on ebay. Only now, I get to keep substantially more of the income, and it's much less work.
Thank you, ebay, for pissing me off enough to leave!

Boycott.. Interesting.. I just joined up today and saw this posting. I agree it is so hard to post on ebay knowing you will be suckered with their fees. Their fees are the advertising all rolled up in to one big huge fee. I pay for google adwords for my ecrater site and that does cost me, but it still does not amount to what ebay charges. I can also control my costs.
Why doesn't ebay let us choose how we want to advertise instead of it controlling us?

I boycotted Ebay several months ago. Since I only take checks/mo's (worked just fine for 11 years), I will not be able to list as of Jan 15. That's when they state they will enforce the payment policy.
I could've listed for those months I've boycotted. It hurts a little, seeing others list vintage stuff like mine, in the same manner I did. I wish I was in the game, having fun. But it wouldn't feel right.
As a small sporadic and niche seller, I just won't risk my excellent feedback based on the changes Ebay has made over the last year.
It feels like Ebay has directly targeted sellers like me, like we're rif-raf or something. Of course all sellers are affected, but the small sellers are really affected. The way dsr's are tabulated, we don't have an average to keep us in the clear. You can provide stellar service to your buyers, but all it takes is one psyco to get me suspended if I only have 12 or 15 auctions in a year. I'll be damned if I'm going to negate 11 years of positive feedback and win-win auctions with other like-minded ebayers with one bad auction which is out of my control.
So I'm in it until they change, or I get going on another site, currently Ebid.

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news - but until you move your business off eBay, you are going to continue to be irritated, ticked off, and screwed over.
If you want to make a statement to eBay, irregardless if you are a powerseller or not you need to vote with your purse and hit other venues and make them just as successful.
It should have been learned by now that it matters not to eBay if you do a one day or a one month boycott. They need powersellers to boycott them for entire quarters. It hurts your business as well.
Move it off eBay - you won't kill yourself - but you will eventually move eBay to other platforms.

I haven't gone there yet, but I understand that there is a "handmade/handcrafted" site called Etsy. And it's true, those who love handmade are GOOD PEOPLE.
