Patrick Burne AKA Hannibal has commented on the Overstock message Boards the Meghan Tuohig is the new Head of Overstock.com Auctions.

Only weeks ago Stormy Simon was announced as the Head of Overstock Auctions and began implementing changes and removing site features. According to Patrick "Stormy wrestled through some necessary changes before moving on to another project ( know some may disagree, I know, but this is already a far healthier ecosystem than it was a few months ago). "

The thread was started by Meghan Tuohig as a personal introduction to site users stating "A goal of mine for the New Year is to establish a closer relationship to the customers of Overstock.com Auctions."

In our opinion establishing a close relationship with sellers will be a tough job since many of the site features have been removed and other features such as BBL, and the ability to combine invoices has never been instituted.

The one they should be getting rid of is Byrnes himself. I posted this on the blog and will repeat it here - its all so simple - yet they don't get it.

If Overstock intends to continue with auctions they best be aware of the bottom line for almost ALL sellers...we won't invest another dime with them until they start regarding their auction site seriously...and that means get real as to what we need in order to sell, get rid of the glitches and ADVERTISE! Its as neat and simple as that! If they can't or won't address themselves to that then they don't belong in the auction business.

I went and read the thread over there and almost lost my breakfast. It's sickening to see that the poor souls over there really think another 'O' Auctions management change in such a short time is a good thing.

When there are constant/repeated management changes it usually only means one of two things.

1) The Owners/Upper Management have really bad judgement picking the proper person for the job.

2) The Owners/Upper Management have no intention on letting a manager really do what is needed and is just picking people they think they could use as mouth pieces until those individuals get tired of the B.S. and "Move on to another project" that is a term corporations love to use when people decide the corporation heads have there heads stuck somewhere and tell the boss where to stick it. They think it fools customers, stockholders etc but it only fools "The Fools" not those in the know.

Who is Patrick going to make the next 'O' Auctions Head I think it might be his dog or maybe he will just start making up additional names for various sides of his personality and start naming those as "This Weeks New Head of 'O' Auctions".

I am not surprised, there has been a thread over there for a while about an announcement from Patrick and Meghan.

Meghan was the liason between the Toasts and Holly, and a good pal of Byron's. In the welcome thread already it seems those few sellers left on the boards are thrilled. Her first official act seems to be to pay them their due. That should give her staying power.

Ironically she walks into the streamlined site created by Stormy Simon. The same people that are now lauding Meghan were the vilest towards Stormy. That has to hurt.

Where is PB's legendary support of his own at this point?

And if a miracle should happen, and the auction tab turn around and start to make sense for online sellers, it will be because a woman named Stormy Simon figured out how!
