Thank you to everyone who has joined PowerSellersUnite (PSU)
PSU was “born” when eBay implemented rate increases that significantly impacted sellers large & small. The fee hikes affect buyers also, as most sellers have no choice but to pass on the eBay fees to buyers. Our focus has now shifted away from the eBay boycott in early 2005 to helping sellers, and buyers, find the best alternative auction site(s) for their needs.

PSU is a fast- growing group of online members – seasoned and new – with common goals. We enjoy a fun, fast-paced environment where all facets of e-Commerce are discussed and debated.
PSU offers site navigation tools, free auction tools, and multiple search options right from the home page!

Our discussions include web site design to best alternative auction sites. If your area of question/interest is not found, ask and you will receive!

Take a minute and join one of the fastest growing online e-Commerce communities!

If you have any news, information, or updates you want to share please contact us

Be sure to submit a link to your online store on our Users Storefronts so others can browse your store. If you do not have your own store yet we provide PSU Stores so you can have your very own e-commerce web site.

You do NOT need to be a PowerSeller to join this site. EVERYONE is welcome!

eBay has introduced a new feature in its Stores product called Markdown Manager. The tool allows sellers to offer discounted pricing on Fixed Price and Store Inventory items. Sale items will display special strike-through pricing on the item page, along with a "Sale" logo, so buyers can easily see the discount offered.

"Ebay Has Technical Problems With "Markdown Manager"

Sellers welcomed eBay's new Markdown Manager feature that allows them to put items on sale, but technical glitches are putting a damper on their enthusiasm. eBay notified developers of the problems, though it did not put an announcement on the Systems Announcement Board.

There are a number of ongoing issues with the "Markdown Manager" feature on the eBay.com site. Sales created through the API (which affects listings submitted via seller tools) are not becoming active at the scheduled time. Sellers also reported the opposite problem. A thread on the eBay Stores board relates sellers who put items for sale for a limited time, only to have the sale never end. "I had a one-day fashion jewelry sale on February 1st which never ended," wrote one seller.

An eBay moderator participating in the discussion thread informed sellers of a way to manually end sales: "In order to end your sale, you can go into the sale that hasn't ended, and hit "clear listings" at the bottom of the sale."

This is really amazing... I remember a couple years ago when bulk editing was introduced, many asked why they couldn't just allow sellers to take a certain percent off all items. That was at least two years ago that their customers asked for this heavily. Since then, Express. Matchups. Blogs. Wiki. MyWorld. Feedback beta tests. Targeted outside sales ads. Brand new SYI form and Turbo lister that were both horrible. Blackthorne updates when all sellers wanted was the old Seller Assistant back. New search and browse displays changed 3 times in 6 months. Add stores, remove stores, appease store sellers with slight exposure. Increasing muliplte listing limits. SMP updates that caused numerous glitches. Skype integration, which maybe 10% actually use. Ban an online giant's payment system. Hide bidder ID's to hurt final sale prices even more than the crowded site already does. With all these useless updates and features, they still found time to have 3 fee hikes and not police the site to the point of lawsuits totalling over $150 million. All the sellers wanted was a freaking markdown tool, and in two years they were given all these (and many more) useless features "For the health of the marketplace" first.

eBay proves time and time again that they do not care about their only customers... the SELLERS. They should be bent over backward to help sellers sell, but instead they update and upgrade the site until it is just plain painful, all the while charging more and ignoring what sellers really want.

WHY HAVEN'T MORE SELLERS LEFT?
Because they are scared they can't succeed anywhere else. But, if half the stores on eBay closed, that would be 40% of all items listed on the site GONE, and about 20% of the sales GONE. Then, take those items, sales, and customers ANYWHERE else, and every site would benefit except eBay, and they wouldn't lose much, if anything. So, they'll keep Meg and Bill eating off gold trim plates, and drinking 100 year old wine, on their multi billion dollar jets just to get their minimal profits.

Sorry, that's my eBay rant for the week... Smile

I'm just waiting for the yelling to begin when this new feature doesn't work either. With all the changes they've introduced in the last 2 months it's a miracle that anything works over there at all.

I do get great satisfaction in watching all this unfold and know that I'm not part of it anymore.
Cool

It’s quite obvious that Ebay want sellers to implode…as soon as this markdown feature starts people are going to search for discounted items, this is going to loose potential sales of people with CORE auctions…which will mean more re-listing fees…I’m really getting full with all this.
Ebay:
H.O.W A.B.O.U.T D.O.I.N.G S.O.M.E.T.H.I.N.G T.O H.E.L.P S.E.L.L.E.R.S (make money..not to loose it)

Who can afford to do markdowns in their stores anyway?

&&&& will the FVF be on the original price or the marked down price.

Also people will want to be able to search on "Sales" and like they can buy it now or other tabs. I know ebay hasn't resolved the .01 prices with the high shipping, so it's just another way China sellers will end up on the top of the search listings....

Just my snarky viewpoint for the day Wink
