no kidding, pigeon- very well said.

i have received 3 negatives this week. all the sellers said they expected more than the auction promised. nothing i can do about it.

i also received a neutral and the comment included an explitive. ebay did remove the words, but not the feedback. great new rules, plus the added fees! Pay to get insulted. I'm working on my psu store. i'm flying ebay's coop.

i just ran my income report on msmoney, which is what i use to do my taxes.... the new fee structure combined with the new feedback rules have been devastating. my income on ebay, which used to be approx. $2000 per month is down to about $500 per month from the higher fees and lower sales.

I'm actively building a site on psu. its time to go.

Ebay has gone downhill in the years i feel the same fees were ment to go down but some how they only went down in favour of the larger sellers.

Hmmm that's not quite right because surly powersellers leave sooner or later to go at business alone meaning ebay will need new powersellers and if fees are so high for those starting out ebay is screwed do they think powersellers grow on trees and small sellers will always remain loyal.

They have got it so wrong i stare at the cancel my account button everyday and think maybe i should as next year they will only add a new features that costs us more.

you have really got to think about the small sellers!!! when your searching through auctions of peoples used goods you really feel like you can pick up a bargain. now if you push up prices for the small non commercial sellers you are going to see more new wholesale goods then 2nd hand bits and bobs.

people still want to go bargain hunting and not just buying new new new!!!

My October Bill !! - 35 cent fixed price listings a SCAM

My bill this month was my 3rd highest on record although my revenue was medicore at best.. it was $1700 for only $13000 in revenue.. !!!

I am getting so sick of ebay. if I could only find a way to promote my business offline that would guarantee payback to my online store.

Selling auto components isnt easy..

£14.99 for a standard shop is out of this world.

Business for me at the moment is slow & does not look to improve any time soon.

Rumor has it...there will be yet another pricing increasing coming in Feb. I've been blogging alot lately, and a number of power sellers have chimed in stating that their power seller reps are informing them alot more changes are coming, and one of the changes is a new fee hike.

Other forms of online advertising cost a lot more than eBay fees, try selling those products off ebay. Use eBay as a lead generator and create a customer funnel to your website, give and provide quality service, products, get people to come back for multiple purchases and you won't complain about fee increases.

They can't really go much higher, it will start hurting middle tier guys like me. Ebay is still profitable at the moment, but those fees really bite in now.

The people who don't sell huge amounts but are more than casual sellers struggle the most (lots of listings but fluctuating sales).

fugazied --- It is my understanding that many Power Sellers have left eBay. That didn't bother eBay, and I doubt they care about the middle tier. Just my take on things.

I'm really not sure how to do that, although I hear lots of sellers talk about it. I have my Elsewhere links on my eBay ME page---but I think that when my eBay store was still open that I didn't get any customers from it.

For starters you can link from the auction to your about me page to get traffic to your sites. That's one way.

Also, a store is very powerful for Search Engine Optimization because you can get your items listed in Google, Froogle and other engines. Next time you do a search for something on google pay attention and you'll start to see a lot of things you search for could get free traffic to your store.
