I started a new thread so we can keep discussion of fee hikes and feedback seperate.

So heres my take, a new insert into our terms of sale

“Dear valued ebay customers. Because of new feedback rules we are no longer participating in the ebay feedback system. We are prohibited from leaving anything but positive feedback, and if all feedback is positive, the feedback system is pointless. We will continue to meet the same high standards we always have. We promise to spend the time saved doing feedback on improving service. Thank you - CohibaStore.”

DDT, why not just promise glowing positive feedback to all buyers regardless? Might as well get some mileage out of it, and make pretty much the same point.

That's a great insert but I can guarantee that Ebay will say it's against the rules. They already have a rule against any discussion of feedback in auction terms.

This whole thing is just retarded! We really need to do something as a united group effort. If we keep taking it and taking it and paying them to abuse us it will just get worse.

Not only will newbies neg us because they didn't their widgit in 24 hours. But competitors will buy and neg us just because they can.

Why can people sit in a room and make decisions about us without ever asking us? I would be willing to bet that not one person in that meeting has ever dealt with a buyer from a sellers stance. They have never sold anything but their ideas on paper to a bunch of foo foo people that don't know online selling from a hands on point of view.

The insert's just to make me feel better. Ebay buyers don't read listing details so I don't expect they'll read this either.

That is one of the massive problems with buyers…very few actually read the listing and then hammer sellers in feedback because of their laziness’ (buyers that is)

Best for sellers to completely boycott any feedback; as it is basically going to be a worthless tool for sellers anyway

Ebay should realize by now that Feedback is one of the main complaints sellers have against eBay ideas and policy……now it's going to be one sided and totally unfair

How can you give positive to someone who pays 2-3 weeks late and then opens a PP charge-back claim for “significantly not as described” because item was the wrong shade of Gray that the buyer likes? And not to mention the waist was .25 inch larger than stated

Total madness …all I can say is eBay are really pushing the limit with this one

If it ain't broken, why fix it?

I liked the original feedback system... it is plain and simple.

Then they did the detailed (5/5 type) of rating which screwed things up.

And now, they will make things worse?

Are these guys really idiots who get paid in millions?

Even a kid would have more business sense than this!

I'm just glad that there are auction sites out there that learn from the stupidity of Ebay.

That poor seller. He won't even be able to leave a negative feedback when the high bidder doesnt pay. Great job eBay.

In the past 3 days I have gotten a return of a neck tie the buyer had a problem with. I try to make people happy so I told him to send it back. It had food stains on it! He wore it and returned it saying the color was wrong.

Another buyer from Canada bought a tie clip in December. It didnt arrive. I sent another one 1 month later. It did arrive. She must not speak English because she complained that the tie clip that had arrived was shipped one month aftert she paid. As if I knew her first one would be lost.

Also, she complained about the shipping cost of 1 dollar when I charged her 2 dollars for shipping.

In closing, her experience with me was the worst she ever had on eBay (her feedback is all of 34).

Most buyers are not like these 2 but a full 5 percent of buyers (and the world population in general) will take advantage of Sellers. eBay has basically painted a target on their sellers and told the buyers ot Fire At Will. And many of them will.

The old feedback system was not perfect but it was a two way street.

Well at least we still have the option of leaving negative comments with our positive feedback to buyers. Oh wait...they can just make their feedback private and all anyone will be able to see is an all positive feedback number without the comments.

I for one will just stop participating in the feedback system. I will not leave any positive feedback for anyone except the buyers that neg me. And then I will force them to take their feedback private because of my negative comment. This will be the only way that sellers can determine if a buyer is problematic.

Any buyer that bids or buys and has private feedback will be cancelled or refunded. No transaction will be allowed to complete.

If we all do this we still have some control.
