Vote added. Neoloch is currently about 6 months old, currently 13,566 listings with 2 items being bid on (any BIN items of course would not show up as having a bid as they would have already sold/closed).
Last page (135) of all item search sorted by bids (descending)

There were 220 items when I checked them out in March.

I didn't vote, since I haven't tried ANY of those listed.

I've quit eBay, and have tried iOffer with very little success, over 2 years.

I also recommend NeoLoch. I have 2 stores there, and yes, it is still slow, but building.

I will be adding many more items over the next few months. I am also buying there, and plan to do much more as Christmas approaches. I plan to support the site I list on, or buy locally.

I'm surprised NL has never made it onto the auction site listing. It was my understanding that sites with over 10,000 listings qualified to be shown. That point was reached approx. 3 months ago, and being on the list would also help growth, as people study the list while making the decision on where to move to.

Purple, you're right - a lot of the items on NL are BIN, so don't show bids.

I notice the last site on the Auction Site Count chart, UBidRight, has only 11,806 listings - only 2 with bids on them. I am curious as to how some sites make the list, but not others.

No, I don't have anything to do with NeoLoch ownership, management, etc, before anyone jumps on me.

Pardon me - NeoLoch passed the 10,000 item count on July 5; so 10.5 weeks ago, not approx. 3 months.

The site count list is conservatively run by this site's owner. The 10,000 listings is a standard that was established some time ago, and is more a guideline than a guarantee. I suspect Neoloch may make it onto the site count list sometime after they are a year old, if they keep up the counts and maintain a decent reputation (though I don't know if 'rep' matters). UBidRight has been around for much longer than that and their users have been generally quite satisfied with the site.

In the end, the decision as to which sites are listed is in the hands of PSU's owner, though by my observation he is fair, though sometimes it takes a while for a request to be acted upon (likely because of the time it must take to create a new script to collect the listing counts from a new site).

Please add my vote for NeoLoch.

I've used a few sites in the actual poll and didn't like them at all. (At least for me) No traffic, no sales...I've been doing OK at NL, so that's the one that gets my vote.

Thanks!

I think the magic number of "10,000" to make the Site Count List is outdated.

3 years ago 10,000 was a remarkable achievement for an alternative site. Today, many people could stock a site with close to that number themselves and get added to the list is that was the only requirement.

The bar should be raised to make the list. The sites already on the list should not be removed as they met the standards for the time.

There should be a new standard of 100,000 listings which is more in line with the alternative site picture of today. It should not be easy.

Two of my favorite alternatives are Bonanzle and Atomic Mall. Both sites have well over 10,000 listings even though they just started. However, I dont think should should be considered for the list until they reach 100,000 listings.

Thank you for the clarification. I had just always thought that 10 K was the 'magic' number.

FB score is a "joke" poking fun at ebay, I think. It is computed by some math done on number of posts you have made, if you contribute $ to support PSU, and if any of your posts are rated by users as being recommended or highly recommended (there may be other factors I don't know about). I have rated several posts over the months that I found especially worth reading for insightfulness or useful information or good advice. The rating link is at the bottom right of each post. Vote for Neoloch recorded. Very Happy

ChShops is described as an online mall of independent shops.

There is a central search from the chshops.com home page, both by shop name and by merchandise. They submit to Google and have a community forum.

However, it is more like having your own website. which is what I want. I use my own domain name pointed to my ChShop. You can use whatever template you wish and set up as you wish. So really it is in the "your own website" category.

Thanks Donna! You know, every time I see your name along with your logo, I immediately think of the word 'zaftig' - great word for some ladies in some outfits, but maybe not for flappers. Very Happy
