I decided to go to eb today and check my feedback rating. It was 614 and 100% positive. I have not sold anything there since the middle of November 2007 and quit buying the end of January 2008.
My feedback went up from 608 and 99.8 to where it is today...but doubt I will ever go back to eb for buying or selling. |

It appears that the number score goes up because of counting repeat feedbacks from your own day one. The percentage score is based upon the past 12 months. It counts negs and neutral - not repeats - divided by the total number left. So it makes sense, if you haven't had a neg or neutral in the last 12 months, it would go to 100%. And all the repeat positives would be counted in the overall number score. It doesn't appear as though a neutral will bring down your number score as a neg does. |

The new system stinks- I have 165 positive feedbacks and 1 neutral feedback from a seller who got mad that I wanted a refund on her shipping because I returned an order that was wrong to begin with. I had 100% feedback and now I have 98.3% because of the ONE neutral feedback from a nasty seller. Now I wish I would have left her negative feedback- she still has 100% and she was the one in the wrong. I didn't feel it was fair to penalize her for mistakingly sending the wrong item. Now look whos suffers |

So far, we have been very fortunate {knock on wood, hard} with the new changes. We picked up 73 additional positives from repeat buyers who previously weren't counted. Of course, we are waiting for the shoe to drop on our head soon as buyers of less integrity start flexing their new found muscle.
I went to enter feedback today for a purchase I made and was greeted with the now infamous pop up assuring me that there would be no retaliation if I left a less than positive feedback for the buyer.
That pop up just encourages buyers, whether honest or not, to leave neutrals or negatives. The header above the feedback section again reiterates the same message. |

Haven't sold in almost a year, but Tammarah got promoted to a shooting star! And stars up to 4.9 cross the board Not that it matters.

Unfortunately the feedback calculation is messed up, using only 666 of the feedbacks (a fitting number for their situation, or perhaps a declaration on their part). |

Dear bobbiesbuttonsandbows,
Just a quick note.....yes, a neutral does bring your rating down as much as a negative would. I have 708 feedback total, with only one neutral, and under the new convoluted way of calculating, my rating went from 100% positive to 95.8%. OUCH! This is my repayment for over 8 years of hard work and really putting myself out for my buyers. If you were to read my feedback you'd see that most of it isn't just good, but glowing. I had one problem buyer who didn't read my listing details, or a single one of my emails to her and then blamed me for problems that were because of her preconceived notions of what should happen, without even giving me a chance to work things out with her before leaving the comment. Just thought you'd want to know for your own protection, neutrals can hurt you very badly. Astounded in Mass., Darleen |

Pearldobrin-that does stink!
Mongoose...I have not seen that yet, but I hate it! Not sure I will ever see it because I hope to not buy on there again.
WPH-that is very funny! About Tammarah and the 666.
My feedback also jumped up. Am wondering how long the powerseller status lasts when you haven't been selling and were not meeting the quota for 2 months prior to that. |

CabinFever, what can we do about it? I don't even understand what the point is anymore- is feedback for the buyer or the seller? Jeez, it's doesnt' make sense. They should count negatives for 12 months and leave the neutrals out of the equation as far as FB % goes. Neutral is a way to say "room for improvement" not "you suck and are being punished" |

My FB went from 100% to 98.3% because of ONE NEUTRAL. This Stinks- what can we do? I've worked so hard on each and every customer I sell to and because another Ebay wants to screw me, I'm punished for a year? Makes no sense. |

My feedback went from 99.5 to 97.6 because they are now counting neutrals the same as negatives. I find that little move interesting because they kind of slipped that by us. I think that happened because too many people were recieving the discounts.
I will lose my powerseller status but what did it do for me anyway?
I only want to know where I email my BITCH SLAPPING notes to eBay? Maybe I will use Snail Mail since the links are always so hard to find. I am going to complain for EVERY LITTLE THING! |

First a pop up message comes on the screen. Closing that takes you to the feedback for. The same message that the pop up provided is repeated in the header of the form.
"Sellers can no longer leave negative or neutral Feedback for buyers.
*
Buyers should leave honest Feedback without the fear of receiving negative or neutral ratings." |

Don't know if it's worth the effort, but ebay will not allow you to leave a negative comment as a seller. If you post a positive with a negative comment, they will remove it. So, instead of leaving a negative, leave a positive like this...
"What a wonderful Scammer you are. It was so nice to have you cost me money and not pay for your item. Thank you."
I know it doesn't make up for what is being done, but it can hold up...well unless they try to tell us how our positives need to be written and give a pre-written selection of the only things you can say. |

I've been a member since 1999 and maintained a 100% feedback. I had one neutral from a new user this year who paid for an item with a PayPal echeck which needed to clear before I would ship.. He paid one day then the next day left feedback giving me a neutral stating he had never dealt with me before. He did tis to several sellers for some unknown reason. I wrote him asking him to reconsider, but he never replied. I've since closed my store and set up on eCrater. I only occasionally list on eBay as an advertisement to my new site. Other than that, I'm done with it. |
