Good morning All,
Meg is still quite involved with FeePay. Good sources have it that she intends to make a run for the governorship of Calif. We'll be hearing more from her in the political future.

Considering CA is going broke...this seems quite logical.
Maybe she can get the welfare system to go thru PayPal. They can call it PesoPal.

iTS hIM- I feel the same way- I'm researching new sites & even looking into a few I had used as "references" before. eBay was good while it lasted, but nothing can stay golden. They are trying to improve their image- but I feel like its more of a toilet overflowing. I just received a survey for them- I replied : how do you expect me to answer a survey positively when you did not even answer my emailed complaint?

Might as well.. that's where many underprivileged Sellers, who were standing on their own making money on ebay, are going to end up. It'll be a real timesaver as most of them will already have a PP account.

good for you! find a new venue- open one of psu's stores or ioffer or such and the contact all the past sellers you can through ebay's email or your "sold" listings- roll that business elsewhere so you can make some money again!

PostPosted: Thu May 29, 2008 5:35 am Post subject:  Re: EBay Feedback Cutoff Kicking In, Sellers Angry #174 Back to top

eBay has stopped responding to my inquiries. I guess I sent them too many and got flagged.

I actually clicked on the close my account link last night.
I did not follow through yet but I am heading in that direction and did not relist all of my unsold items as I usually do on a daily basis.

I have begun spending the time on my own web sites that I used to spend developing my eBay business.

My thinking is this. eBay made it easy to do less work than building my own sites requires. It had a large customer base I wanted access to.

In the beginning, the access did not cost me too much for the benefit provided.
There was a somewhat fair feedback system that could reward me for excellent customer service while also helping prevent buyers from being completely unreasonable.

Now the fees are significantly more than when I started and the feedback system actually encourages buyers to be pissing little bullies.

In 3 years of selling, I received all positive feedback except for 2 neutrals over shipping damage that was out of my control. neutrals were not counted against my score and I remained at 100% That made it easier to get over the uneducated, unreasonable buyers unfair feedback.

Now, only days into the new feedback policy, I have received 2 more Neutrals. The buyer claimed that the items were "dirty and looked like they were stored outside."

The items were brand new and well cared for. I currently do not sell any used items on eBay. These same items generated appreciative, positive feedback from previous buyers.

I represented them exactly as they are. I photographed them for the listings myself.

The buyer was a difficult one from the start asking me several questions, making several requests/demands etc. for $6.00 worth of merchandise.
I communicated and complied with all she requested to make an seemingly insignificant sale.

I pride myself on my customer service.

After the sale, the customer did not contact me at all. They waited until the last day that feedback could be left for this transaction and then Neutraled me twice for ONE combined purchase.

I replied to the feedback professionally (about all we can do now) and then emailed the buyer asking her why she had not made her dissatisfaction known before waiting until the last day to leave Neutral feedback.

I also made it known that eBay now counts Neutrals almost as damaging as Negatives. I do not think that most buyers know this and think they are giving sellers a slight break by leaving Neutral instead of a Negative.

I also explained that the items were brand new and we certainly could have worked something out if she had contacted me concerning her dissatisfaction. For $6.00 I would have just refunded her money and moved on.

This was the response:

Dear rw,

I was HONEST and VERY FAIR in my wording of the condition of the items you sent me. DO NOT contact me EVER again or I will report you to eBay. You sent junk and I got the "pleasure" of paying you to clean out your "shed".

- motherofoliver

I guess now I just have to take the lumps from a lying, non communicative, generally upset person.

I went from 99.2 to 98.9 because of this unreasonable and spiteful buyer.
Remember I was a 100% seller for years until the new policy took effect and have never had a negative.

Under new policy, I feel as if my business reputation is sinking fast on eBay.

This latest feedback has really motivated me to actually change rather than just consider it.

Paying Google to run internet adds for my own web sites now seems a lot more economical than paying eBays increased fees just to be publicly smeared by the public at large.

If that Meg does run for governor all of this will come out.
I kind of hope she does so it will.

Hi Everyone!! Its Tictocnmore again-

I just thought you would all get a kick out of eBay's response... eBay knows there are going to be A HUGE LOT more negatives floating around out there from ignorant, problematic, cheap-a#@ed, dead-beat & illiterate buyers (the ones who do not read the listing or view all the pictures and then make unfounded claims)-

Also, they want to make sure you resolve it amicably- so don't leave an unpaid item strike- so that these bidders can keep bidding and screw some one else - so that eBay gets their fees.

PS.. i would block this bidder:anta-leda - this was her original email: "If you could at least try to sell the item to the previous bidder that would be great....if not I will pay for the item as mentioned before. I DO NOT want a bad strike on my record. But just for your information eBay allows one "free card" and is not like you did not have any other bidders for this item.
" Ok- is it just me? because Ive never heard of a free pass- as a buyer & a seller

so their deal in plain English is: don't worry about your negative- people will see your other feedback and know you are a good seller- so basically your feedback score is a joke. read this and maybe you can get a good laugh just like I did:

Dear tictocnmore,

Thank you for writing to eBay in regard to the transaction you had with

anta-leda.

In this case, I would recommend trying to resolve the issue with the
buyer amicably. However, if you are not able to resolve the issue, then

filing an Unpaid Item Dispute is the option you can consider. I
understand your concern that you may receive negative Feedback from a
buyer who doesn't pay for an item.

Please be assured that most members will consider your overall Feedback

Score when they decide if they want to participate in a transaction
with
you. Members can review the comments that you've received and left for
others, including any replies or follow-up comments, to determine what
actually happened during a transaction.

Please also visit the following page for more information on how
feedback is removed in regard to the Unpaid Item Policy.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Mongoose- you'd be worth more than Meg's retirement package if you started selling stuff like that for all eBay sellers to use while selling on eBay- something to dull the pain while eBay behind you Sad

How can they act as if some bogus feedback is irrelevant when eBay uses it to determine search rankings, fee calculations and even suspending your account? THEY do not "review the comments ... including any replies" in ANY of these factors.

That has to be intensely frustrating for you.
