One of the posters whose post was removed from OLA said the site was like the "Stepford Wives". Join the group and keep nodding your head yes - you will be very successful if you never question them about sales or traffic since the OLA cheerleaders will buy from you.

The last time the "News" page was updated was June 29th wishing everyone a Happy 4th. Nothing about the upgrades or glitches that have been going on since the 4th.

Very Sad.

I have kept my mouth shut about OLA pretty much as I kept hoping things would change, but I guess it's time now to speak up in hopes others don't drink the water (kool-aid).

I had asked OLA for a Google feed at least 2 years ago. We had over 10,000 items there for around 18 months. Kept asking and asking.....

Guess what ?

It is STILL not done Rolling Eyes

Others than my regulars that I chased over there from eBay, I had 3 or 4 sales in a year & a half from new buyers. And one of those was Chris Fain. Shocked

Over the course of listing over there and doing as best we could at keeping inventory correct, their system always managed to re-list items we had deleted or make duplicate listings, causing chaos when it came to trying to explain to buyers we did not have the item.

Finally decided to leave and took me 6 more months of aggravation, emails & phone calls to get a CSV file from them so that the mess could be sorted out. Once I got the .csv I had all items removed and within 24 hours got a phone call from Chris trying to leave the items up and when I told him the problem with duplication and re-listing deletions, guess what ?

He gave me a FREE Founding Membership.... Laughing
I had refused all along to sign up for one due to lack of sales.

That was about a year ago.....

Still have not used it. Cool

All of the items we had at OLA were only listed with them and not on our website and now that they have been moved to the website, probably around 2500 have sold.

I have to believe that uploading them to GB myself is the reason..... Confused

Yeah, seems like they must dole out some pretty
potent Kool-Aid at OLA. Luckily some of us were able
to resist partaking of it.

It is really amazing that OLA has still not been
able to institute a Google feed after all this time.

Far newer sites, much smaller sites, sites that are
100% free to use, feed their listings to the Google
product search data base.

And yet, it's *STILL* beyond the capability of OLA
to get this done?

Promises that it was 'coming' are no longer simply
annoying, they've become laughable as the weeks,
months, and years have passed.

It doesn't matter how many items OLA wants to
tout that they have offered on their site, until they
manage to get exposure of their user's wares via
Google and other shopping search engines, OLA
will remain an obscure website in the backwaters
of the world wide web.

Makes no difference how much potential a site may
have, how cheap it is to use, how many items are
offered there, if an online shopper can't find them.

Why is it that OLA can't realize this and make it a
priority to put the Google feed into place?

OLA has plenty of potential -- but potential doesn't
generate sales.

Maybe it's time for OLA to roll out a new site slogan:

OnlineAuction.com
Busy not living up to our potential

"Busy not living up to our potential"

That is a sentiment I am feeling... I must say that if countless users have identified critical issues, that those issues should become a top priority... The potential keeps me looking, though. I am quite disheartened to hear that they are deleting posts in their forums, though.

Purple, as someone who doesn't buy frequently and DOESN'T SELL, any opinion you give concerning selling on ANY site is about as insightful as a blind man explaining what a cloud looks like.

OLA is a money pit that sucks sellers to death, that is unless they can get them to drink their Kool-Aid so they can march around the internet like OLA ZOMBIES telling how wonderful it is over there.

And now to find that they are taking posts off their boards to make things look better than they actually are is so UNDERHANDED and ROTTEN. Chris Fain found a cash cow and is laughing all the way to the bank. The problems OLA has now are the SAME ONES that they had 5 years ago. Some things never change, except, maybe, the flavor of the Kool-Aid.
