I think the site is cool too. I was wondering...how many items can you list there? Is this site on search engines? |

What I would suggest to anyone starting up a new site, is Don't make Buyers have to register in order to buy. You will find you will get alot more traffic if you allow the buyers to buy directly from the sellers, No need for them to register. Also, if you could do this, then USA People and other people from all over could buy from who they wanted to.
Make sense? Is there a way you could ask the members who want to sell to register and not the buyers? Just a good open thought. Blujay is successful this way, the buyer can be from anyone from any part of the world, without having to register. Thats what I call a Marketplace. |

Thank you for your comments jcut92.
Bonanzle aims to be more transparent than other sites and that is why we have buyers register. However you will see when you do register that it is a very simple and quick process. We only ask for your email address, screen name, password and your zip code. That is all! It helps to create more of a community feel.
Take care!

Mark, your a very smart guy, no doubt. But the reason I said what I had said, was cause, this would allow buyers from out of the country to purchase. I don't have a problem with selling within my country here in the USA, but after reading the first page, that seems like a concern for folks. So if you got to the point where you DID not make buyers register, then anyone could buy. That was all I was saying. Is that possible?
Sellers Never mind registering, but why should a buyer have to register? He just needs to get that info to the seller after the purchase is made, either thru paypal, google or whatever. Thanks for listening to my opinion.
I will NEVER sell anywhere again where they make the buyers register. Its a hassle either way you slice it. I also feel sellers lose business when the buyer has to register. It takes too much time, and its a pain. |

I'd just like to say welcome neighbor! It's nice to see another Washington-based marketplace enter the arena.

Good luck with that. Adding Google Checkout to our site was one of the most challenging aspects of the entire build. It seems Google went out of their way to make the install unnecessarily complex. I'm just glad it's done! PM me if you need any help in getting it set up.
Just to add my $.02, I also agree that you shouldn't force buyers to register before shopping. It's just another obstacle that may prevent a sale, and no ecommerce site needs that. I've found that our site works very well letting shoppers go about their business without harassing them with reminders to register. When they go to checkout, the system registers them silently in the background as they enter their shipping details. Quick. Easy. Simple.
Of course everyone has a different theory on this, but this approach seems to work well for us. We've only been open two weeks, but all the feedback I've received seems to support this approach.
Good luck and welcome to PSU!

Mark,
A bit of advice. When promoting a new site or service on the net, please refrain from spamming (ie - fake reviews). Consumers see right through it.
Let your site or service speak for itself.
Regards,
Sockmoney |

Looks nice. It is good to see eBay alternatives popping up as many folks are unhappy with the them (ebay).
Good luck with your launch. |

JMO but I must say I agree with those who suggest having buyers not have to register to buy. Personally, with so many sites out there & folks concerned about internet scams, they hesitate to drop their "info" here, there & everywhere.
I know as a buyer, I feel all I want to do is buy, pay & receive. End of story. I don't care to do anymore than that. I actually backbutton from sites that require me to register before I can send my money, LOL I'm sure I'm not alone. |
