#1  Back to top

Southie came up with a fun idea for everyone who wishes to participate.

It is PSU's version of a Secret Santa. I think we can have a lot of fun with this.

Check back for more details

Okay everyone! Here's a Cheap and Whacky Way we can
all have fun for the holidays!

Each person who wishes to be a part, send me a PM, and provide
me your Name, Address, City, State, Zip Code - and if you would
accept an International PSU Member - State so. I will need your
email address.

I will randomly select each person - to a victim, errr, another
PSU Member - will send the information to you via email.

DEADLINE for me to have all information - Friday, November 11th.
I will be emailing everyone who they are to send ... (hang on -
I'm getting there)

WHAT?

A christmas card with some type of a gift - but must stay within
the 37 cent postage (bookmark, balloon, stick of new gum, etc)
No USED items please!!! Except handmade items. The only exception
are for the International folks - Standard Airmail Letter rate (just
a few pennies more).

DEADLINE to send Card & Gift will be:
International: November 24th (to allow time to arrive)
United States & Canada: December 2nd

Mark ENVELOPE on bottom lower left P S U

Once you've received the card --- hang on to it.... (NO
PEEKING or Santa will put coals in your stocking!!)

We will meet on the board (wherever PSUnite picks) on
Monday - December 12th - at 9:30 EST (to allow those
on West Coast to be present)

We will then open our cards - and post on the board
of whom gave whom.

EXAMPLE:

elgato: Dep-T-Dawg sent me a very strange Christmas
Card with a doggie bone bookmark

CrystalStar: earthfragments.com sent me 2 balloons and
taped that card so well on purpose that when I did open
it up - confetti went flying everywhere, and I got a bonus
of a decorated computer desk too!

PSUnite: OriginalVintage sent me a gift wrapped card that
was gift wrapped again, and I got a check book registry,
Hmmmm, are you trying to tell me something?

junkinfortreasure: I got 3 sticks of Big Red Gum from southie.

Sure you can post your "LOOT"

----------------------------------------

ANYONE CAN JOIN US!
C'mon join us - this will be fun!

If you want to participate - send me a PM with the above
info, including your email and if you would accept an International
PSU member!

NOTE: PSUnite will have a copy of the list of whom got whom.

ANY QUESTIONS? Post it on the board and I will answer!
Don't PM me the questions, because the chances are - someone
else might have the same question!

Just for example from previous events I've had when I was
a List Owner in YahooGroups for more than 5 years before
I turned it over to some one else to take care of it.

Items stuffed into a regular Christmas Card - ranged from
balloons, fresh new sticks of gum, bookmarks, new check
registry, mini-new calendar, embroidery threads, smiley
face mini-post it note, $2.00 bill, Funny Money, signed postcard
by an actor that said, "Get Lost! Dave Letterman" (no one
believed him until he scanned it LOL), Indian Cent, Buffalo
Nickel, and so on ...

Then there were WHACKY things such as: fresh unopened
Alka Seltzer (don't ask me Whyyyyy but it was a riot!), really
flat cookie (she actually took a photo of it - I think everyone
just about died laughing - A ginger snap), colorful rubberbands,
paperchain gum wrapper made with vintage gum wrappers
(NOW THAT ONE was unique - remember those?), and I could
go on and on and on ...

Then there were unusual items: sharkstooth, a very small pet
rock (had eyes, nose and mouth and if you call that - hair),
sandalfoot shoe stocking, pair of nylon eyeball socks, a very tiny
stocking that your pinkie couldn't fit in, and so on

Maybe these past ideas will give you the whole perspective ...

I love this. Gift certificates? I like that one, too. I guess it depends on where you live. International maybe not.

Mainsteam fast food? McDonald's, Quiznos, Subway, Taco Bell, Burger King -- I don't know how many others are national. I see Sonic advertised, but we don't have these out here. We used to have Arby's but don't anymore. And then there's always Starbuck's -- hint, hint Twisted Evil I think they're all over.

I think food stores you can get gift certificates for $5 and under.

and won't cost more than 37 cents postage...
