LOL....I was thinking that when I typed it, but thought only a guy would assume Chris was a guy....LOL...just kidding.

You might want to read up on OLA though. Seems like they pull similar crap there.

Hubby has a 73 Grand Torino Sport Green in color. A lot of the parts are the same as the 74, it just depends on which parts you are looking for.

I almost forgot to mention that buyitsellit also offers free stores. They work nicely, because buyers don't have to register or join the site you are on.

Anyways, I just advertise them as that's where I'm getting sales. I tried a lot of places, and my stuff just sat there. I'm selling at Bonanzle to, but only small dollar amount items aka cheap stuff Very Happy .

LOL I dont know why I assumed Chris was a he, my name is either gender too so you'd think I'd have the mind set for that but I didn't. Than again I was just speechless after reading that my account had been closed and the vibes of HAHAH TAKE THAT B***** emanating from that email (if thats possible LOL) was just overwhelming.

And a 73? Doors /should/ work (Ive got rust starting on the drivers door on my Gran Torino and I just don't wanna mess with it, replace it if I can, toss the original in storage then fix the rusted one at some point down the road). I really need a hood for my Ranchero (Ranchero and Gran Torino are the same car -- most people don't think so but they actually are). But I know the grille/header design changed from 72 to 74 (pointed in 72, flat in 74) and I cant recall offhand which one the 73 has (transition or the flat 74 header). Let me do some checking and I'm checking out your stores now. ^_^ OOO jewelry at the other one? LOL Im a trip, tomboy girl into cars (and I work on them) and yet I love jewelry. My boyfriend never knows what to think half the time.

I will go check out buyitsellit too. Ive got a list of a few places to go look at tonight.

Starscream... I got the boot in 2006 because I emailed CS and wasn't all "Sweetness & Light". They cancelled my account and blocked my IP.

It was the best thing that could've happened.

I know you were pissed but move on. They went from swearing they would never increase the monthly store fee of $9.95/mo to making it $29.95/mo to FREE with free showcase status!! ROFLMAO!!

WP should have always been free... cause they suck.

And angelsong777... you never learn. No one and I mean.... NO ONE but you defends WP. The proof is in the fact that you are the only one ever to show up on the boards defending WP when yet another person shows up saying how they were screwed over. You are an army of one.

969 stores were the highest WP ever got... over 910 of those stores closed since 2006. That should make it clear to you that WP is a dead fish... and stinks like one.

You're going to wake up one morning, make your coffee, sit in front of your computer, type in wagglepop.com and all you see is a white screen with "Page cannot be found".

Why do you think they are making it free?

1) They know they suck and can't get people to sign up to a crappy site and pay $30 a month for the privilege of no traffic.

2) If it's free, they can just "shut it off" and not have to worry about collecting fees or paying anyone back for prorated time. They are avoiding small claims court by the last 54...53...52... sellers still active on the site.

3) If it's free, they can promise something and deliver nothing... after all you get what you pay for.

It's been the same since 2006.... give it a rest already. Oh... and start backing up your listings AS777...

I swear I here Europe playing in the background.... "It's the final countdown"....

I am unsure as to what it applies to, or how it will be applied, enforced, etc. There also seems to be a lot of controversy surrounding it, so I don't know if any changes or clarification will be made before it goes into effect. I actually have much bigger problems going on right now that are taking my focus away from online stuff, so I'll look into the new law more next month if I'm not too busy putting out other fires.......

I would think that would be your first priority so you don't get sued or fined for selling bad merchandise.

Of course... I guess WP fires are more important... silly me.

The fires are 100% unrelated to WP, and they are far more serious than getting "sued or fined for selling bad merchandise".

valerieq1, I hear you. WP is just a strange place that needs to be put out of its misery IMO

And AS777, iOffer has a great look and feel to it. Ive cruised that place a few times and found lots of stuff I'd love to buy. I can see me as a buyer doing business there pretty soon and look forward, as a casual seller, to listing there. OLA on the other hand...well I did say I wasn't sure about that place. The rules and fees there don't sit too well with me both as a buyer and a seller but its a place far better than WP to keep in mind to network my listings or keep in mind for stuff Im looking for.

And regarding the side topic of the 73 Gran Torino; the doors will fit but nothing else. I'd need to see pictures of it to judge for the rest or google it but Im too busy with some stuff to get to that right now. But I will try to get to that at some point later today.

Seriously, valerieq1, any fool can see that Angel is much too busy visiting multiple forums, spamming for her beloved guru and dispelling "myths" about WP which have been dispensed by the uneducated, disenfranchised and delusional to spend any time investigating legislation and protecting herself from lawsuits and fines.

For the OP - google products (search) is your friend for your shopping wants. It does not include 'all' items every where, but does give a great starting place to search across the web.

It does only include items that are buy-now or store listings. So - open-ended auctions won't be included from any site - eBAY, etc.

Also, for casual selling, assuming a fixed price preference, I would suggest you also take a look at AtomicMall.com. I've done well there, and continue to grow my store while selling.

eCrater, AtomicMall, Bonanzle are all fixed price formats with FREE stores. AtomicMall and Bonanzle have modest final sale fees if/when you sell something. eCrater does not.

HTH!!

I have an account with eCrater and my store parked right now as I haven't stocked it yet. I just signed up for Bananzle last night and looked around. I will check out AtomicMall and see how that is. I also have an account with Etsy as I do make, dare I say, cool looking halloween charm bracelets ^_^ Got accounts set up, just need to get them stocked up!!

What do you guys think of Plunderhere?

I'm on PH also and have good stock there! I make sales - at a slower pace than the fixed price places though. And - I 'assumed' that fixed price were more of interest to ya than other.

If you want to also explore auction type sites, I think it's as good as it gets! I know there are mixed feelings when we start exploring/discussing alternative 'auction' sites - so others may feel differently!

Good Luck as you explore alternatives.... Laughing Laughing

I've never sold at PH, but I've heard enough questionable things about the site from very reputable sources, that I'd look very carefully under the hood on that one, if I were you, before dropping your dipstick in the crankshaft. Same for Atomic Mall. The only sellers I've found with any success there are a handful of cheerleaders, one of which also cheers here for Wagglepop.

I like Ecrater, and have had a store for some time. Don't make a lot of sales, but then, I don't work at it either. Any sale there is icing. I was going to open up at Etsy until recent policy changes wouldn't let me in. I do like the site -- for those who do crafts and such, it has the right niche. I also had a store on HiBidder, and did have sales, but didn't like the way the site was run -- too despotic -- reminded me of WP. Only plus is that it is free.

My advice would be to play cool and do LOTS of homework before wasting time, money and energy on any alt site. Most of them are run by rinky-dink, ego-maniacs who purchased cheap out-of-the-box auction software ($500 or less) with the intent of installing it, spamming the net with visions of grandeur, then sit back, smoke a cigar, sip cognac and gloat in the stupidity of ignorant sellers who are lured into the web by some dog and pony show.

No law says you have to dive in off all springboards at once. After doing your homework and finding a few likely candidates, pick one and see how it goes. Any others, if they have anything to offer, will still be around when you're ready to spread out, if and when you are, and assuming that's what you decide to do.

Lastly, remember that forums are not infomercials, the purpose of which is to suspend your sensibility and motivate you into purchasing that widget before you have a chance to sleep on it and regain rational thought. Likewise, beware of sellers who jump on these boards like Jack-in-the-Boxes, singing the praises of any particular venue. Consider whether it's really your best interests that they have at heart.
