Hi everyone. I am new here but have been coming to powersellers for a while checking the auction count and such. Heres my experience with one of the 'better' alternatives to eBay....

Im a long time member of eBay and was a buyer more than a seller though I did sell (when it was fun on the bay to). A couple of years ago I registered on various other auction sites, ones that wouldn't mind a none powerseller like me and hopefully would appreciate a powerbuyer (in a sense) that I can be. My main email address that Ive had for several years is going out of business as of this Wednesday so I am going around to all the sites and such changing everything around.

Everything was going fine until I got to Wagglepop. On my profile page my email address was showing in just black text and there was absolutely no way to change it what so ever. I tried everything possible to find a way to change my email address on my profile page and simply could fine no way to do it. I contacted customer service. 24+ hours later I still have heard nothing back so I post on their forum asking politely how I can change my email address. I check back later and no replies but I see new replies for some thread game going on.

okkkaaay

I contact customer service again. I am not rude but Im also not exactly a happy member of wagglepop right now. So far Ive seen lousy site design (in terms of a members account page) and frankly NO customer service. My email wasn't exactly rude but it wasn't sunshine. I also post another thread on another board of the forum asking for the same thing; how can I change my email.

I check my email a little while ago and get a reply from Wagglepops customer service from a man named Chris who stated that they had closed my account. AND my IP# is now blocked so I can't even access the site.

What type of customer service is this??? What if I was watching an auction to bid on? All I wanted to do was update my email. Im stunned. This is enough to make me run back to eBay....Im simply stunned.

Anyone else had this experience with 'the revolution'?

Here is my email to customer service and the reply:

Message

I contacted you on 01_09_09 about how to change my email address on my account and I have not heard anything yet. Time is of the essence here as the email account that is registered here for my account will BE NO MORE as of 01_16_09. I don't have a lot of time left to switch this account over to the new address and to be honest, Im getting pissed because there is NO WAY TO CHANGE AN EMAIL ADDRESS ON THE PROFILE PAGE and so far on the thread I posted on the community board here, everyones too busy wanting to play games instead of telling me something -- anything on how to change my email address. I find it boggling that there is no way to change ones email address on their profile page. What type of person puts such a flaw in a page design???? My email address on my profile page is plain black text, not underlined, not linked .. NOTHING..its regular text and the instructions above to follow the link to change the address is someones idea of a joke, right? If this is any indic! ation of how this place is run perhaps I should just let this account go and let people know to stay away from 'wagglepop'. If they can't keep their members account pages running correctly, how are they truly as an auction site????? And I know not to hold my breath for a reply to this, right?

**************

As I said I wasn't exactly nice but WOW, close my account with a smile? Huh? Its also amusing that my first email to customer service which was sweet and nice was totally ignored and yet the one above got noticed.... From what I see wagglepop doesn't have the traffic and members to just arbitrarily delete people because they get a bit (though justified IMO) annoyed. Oh and to correct, it was actually 01-08 that on did the initial contact now the 9th as I stated above.

I have been a seller on Wagglepop for 2 1/2 years. In all of that time, I have received nothing short of stellar customer service from ALL of their CS staff.

In your case, it sounds like it would have been most appropriate for you to:

1. Wait a reasonable amount of time for them to reply to your first request.

OR

2. Simply open another account with your new email address which is very quick and easy to do.

Your second message to them included: "If this is any indic! ation of how this place is run perhaps I should just let this account go and let people know to stay away from 'wagglepop'. If they can't keep their members account pages running correctly, how are they truly as an auction site????? And I know not to hold my breath for a reply to this, right?"

And you're upset that they closed your account after that? So upset that you had to run over to PSU and register to rant about it? RIDICULOUS! Many people in this world have REAL problems. This is far from qualifying as one.

I did wait a reasonable amount of time. Their customer service is open from 8 (or 9..whatever) till 5PM. I contacted them on the night of the 8th. By 2AM this morning I had heard nothing back. Funny their customer service is not open on the weekends and yet I get the response finally at 11 something this morning....mmmmmm

And you go in and try to change an email address on your profile page when theres no way to do it when you have been working at this all day on other sites with no problems and tell me you aren't going to be a bit miffed? Obviously the truth angers that boy named Chris.

And lastly, I did not register just to rant, sorry to burst your bubble. I had been considering registering here for quiet some time. I chose now to do so and before you start preaching about real problems you need to get off your soapbox and realize you aren't the only one with problems. You don't know me, my life or my problems so back off.

How dare you make such assumptions of me. Who are you? Someone who sells online. Im a buyer and Im getting sick and tired of this holier than though attitude online sellers are getting across the entire internet and you are just a perfect example of it.....

Regardless of how my last email to them could be interpreted their response was uncalled for. Customers are still right and I WAS a customer to them and to any seller there I could have done business with. And before you come back telling me I must be a lousy buyer I have over 1000 pos (UNFORCED POS) feedbacks from the bay and continue to do so and have never gotten a neg or a neutral. I have purchased everything from hard to find light bulbs to CARS off eBay. I am a buyer sellers like.... and when I sell I give the service and commitment I like as a buyer. Not attitudes like yours.

What Wagglepop did was wrong any way you look at it. Could I have been nicer? Sure but when I was I was ignored.

Have a good day and enjoy feeling like the only one in the world with problems.

No, I can't begin to imagine being miffed over something like that.

BTW, Chris is a very kind and sweet lady, not a boy.

Starscream,

Just be thankful that your account on wagglepop is closed. It is a lousy site and it will never amount to anything as long as Ray is running it. Your better off not having an account on wagglepop. Just go view the other topics on wagglepop on PSU and you will see its better that you are off that site.

Don't argue with Angelsong as she is involved with them directly somehow. We've questioned her on other threads and she has access to such detailed information a REGULAR customer would not have access to.

It is my opinion that she works for Wagglepop as it is too convenient that no other owners of WP ever find their way here.

Take your money elsewhere. You'll find a much better store design with buyitsellit. Unlike WP, you won't have to pay almost $30 a month (only $4.95) and the abilities of buyitsellit far surpass Wagglepop.

I started my store in mid September and didn't have it really there until November as that is when I listed most of my items. I have almost $3000 in sales, so the sales are there for sure.

From what you have, it seems that they really aren't interested in new customers. It's their loss not yours!

Angelsong,

BTW, that is what PSU is all about, so not sure why you complain that the issue has been brought to PSU.

No, from your posts, it seems like they could walk all over you and you'd just take it. Most sellers aren't that dedicated/addicted to a site.

Yes, she knows the people personally, which only adds to the issue of her connection to Wagglepop.

FYI, Wagglepop is running a deal now where anyone who has not previously had a Wagglepop store can open an unlimited number of stores 100% FREE for one full year. I'm confused as to why you feel the need to be so nasty toward a site that could do wonders for your business for FREE for an entire year. Furthermore, it's ridiculous for you to behave the way you do toward me simply because I sell there and happen to be the only experienced Wagglepop seller who talks much about it on PSU.

Funny thing is, for some reason you didn't behave this way toward me on the thread where I pointed out that Wagglepop is the only site I know of that has certain features that you were really wishing a site had.

I humored you, because you said WP had what I was mentioning, but you weren't even close. WP does not offer a separate storefront, which is what I was really talking about.

You have more creativity, but it's still a WP storefront.

Yes, I wish bisi was easier, but learning more every day for sure.

Great a year for free and then $30 a month. Better yet, get all your items listed and then they will close your account if you aren't nice enough! WooHoo!

Oh, C'mon. You tell us all about the owners like you personally know them and get detailed information that a regular seller would not know. Who cares anyways, I don't want to go over your involvement with WP again.

My thinking is why couldn't customer service just have told his what to do? Seems they should have just answered his question rather than ignoring him until he is upset.

You get all upset that he brings it up on PSU when that is why PSU is here. I'm sure that it's important to other sellers and buyers that WP is quick to close accounts. Any site needs to understand that sellers and buyers get frustrated when they don't understand things. A simple "sorry for the delay" would've been a much better response.

That is all in your head. I have NEVER, not even ONCE yet, had even so much as a single email contact with the owner of Wagglepop. He is not directly accessible like the owners of the majority of alternative sites are.

I am sure that if ANYONE asked to have the email address on their account changed, and allowed sufficient time for it to be taken care of, it would be politely and professionally taken care of. I know several people who have asked WP to change the email address on their account, and it has always been taken care of without issue.

Wagglepop also announced last year with the $29.95 a month fee that the wagglepop staff was going to start listing on the site to fill all the catagories that were empty and "BE IN THE TRENCHES WITH THE SELLERS ON THE SITE"

It's been several months since that announcment but still no listing from the management what happened to that did the management know that they could spend all that time listing and still not get sales either.

I wont go into business with a company that promises something and then never delivers. Wagglepop has promised lots of things and never delivered. It just shows they don't care.

That was put on hold because they said they received a number of emails from sellers who were concerned about those items being in competition with theirs, or something along those lines. There is still something in the works, but I don't know exactly how or when it will be implemented.

LOS: You're not the only WP seller who has complained that WP's customer service rivals that of the KGB in its hayday.

As another highly reputable X-WPopper once said, Angelsong would defend Jack the Ripper if he supported WP. Literally HUNDREDS, if not thousands, of WP store owners have run from WP kicking and screaming, and thankful they didn't spend more time, energy and money into that pathetic excuse of an auction site run by a long-time eBay seller who is such a dismal failure at selling on eBay, he can't even break even with his own poopy store. Many have posted with PSU -- just check the Wagglepop thread here under "other auction sites."

WP is a cult, pure and simple, devoted to the glorification and butt-kissing of the site owner who couldn't sell his way out of a paper bag, let alone advise anybody else on how to be successful.

Like Dave said, WP will never amount to anything. Consider yourself fortunate "Chris" cut your head off, as has been done to so many other sellers who dared to question, including myself. WP exists today only because the cult leader dangles carrots of riches in front of the adoring eyes of a hand-full of faithful drones, who (many suspect) have an association that extends beyond seller-site.

WP is all about smoke and mirrors, carrots and BS.

Great replies!! I appreciate the true opinions about Wagglepop here. Sorry AS777 I don't really know you but even I'm getting the impression you are something on the inside to be defending WP like this and more or less saying all this was my fault.

Sure, I could have been nicer but Im running against the clock getting dozens of sites Im registered with pointed to a viable address and forwarding emails from my soon to be defunct inbox. Why should I have to put up with jumping through hoops for some mental case for an auction site that chances are doesn't and won't have the sellers I'd buy from and from the looks of it, no buyers for my stuff if I tried to sell?

I don't have time for that and on the internet if a site isn't willing to be nice there are hundreds of others ready to jump in their place. Wagglepoopy is just a fading memory now in my book and life moves on.

And my bad for thinking Chris was a guy...sounds like she needs some PMS drugs from her reply to me. One thing /she/ failed to keep in mind, I don't need WP, but they could sure use /me/. My follow up reply to her pretty much burned any bridge left for WP and I hope she enjoyed it *though I did write it thinking I was talking to some guy* So, AS777, tell your friend Chris I meant batteries instead of lotion.....

I have accounts with other auction sites that seem to be talked about more favorably then this washed up one was. I really want to get back into selling this year (though Ive been trying for a couple of years now to do that) though its going to be hard the way the economy is. But I look forward to listing on iOffer and OLA (though I am a bit reserved about that one) and a couple others. If anyone can point me to some good threads that give good ideas and advice for n00bs or those getting back into selling after a few years out, I would really appreciate it!!

And pardon my typos in my last reply, I was a bit steamed!! :p

By the way, LittleOnlineStore, nice A body in your banner sig. I used to be so MoPar but went to Ford finally. I have a 74 Gran Torino (bought it off eBay) and a 74 Ranchero500. Think you can hook me up for some body and trim parts? ^_^

And for the record Im a she (girl that loves cars, it can happen LOL) not a he so I guess getting genders mixed up went all around today....right Chris?

Starscream,

I would suggest you take a look at Bonanzle. For the longest time I was telling noobies Blujay and eCrater and "your own" for alt sites to eBay.

But recently I went to try this new site Bonanzle and the site seems to really be taking off. I've had 6 sales there already and just opened my site last Saturday.

At least look at it as far as your buying goes and see what you think of it. There are a whole lot more items listed there than at WP, that's for sure.

Carol
