Hello, and welcome to PSU! Very Happy

You'll hear varied opinions in response to your question, my advice is to try several of the venues that will be pointed out to you.

It seems that some venues work well for folks, perhaps depending on what they sell, and then don't work well for others. I don't think that there is a single best alternative to the eBay site... again, it depends.

Listen to what folks have to say, try a few, and then decide for yourself.

Additionally, strongly consider setting up your own e-commerce site. It could perform much better than you ever imagined... it's well worth considering. FYI, PSU offers a nice e-commerce store and hosting for it. If interested, more information is available here.

I will tell you that I've had good luck with Atomic Mall. Others also have, and some have also had great success with other venues.

Best of luck to you. Very Happy

Hi,

UK powersellers can register on my site HighStreetSale.com

I've take a look at ebay and they are now promoting ebay outlet stores.

Time you swapped to someone who cares about smaller retailers.

HighStreetSale.com is no risk!

I am hoping to add my site Dundilly.com to the list? My hopes and wishes are that people get on Dundilly to sell their stuff. I am currently offering ALL new comers to list and sell their products for FREE using this voucher code: f2b5960e46a6 when posting the item.

I've also included a blog post their on how to get more followers on Twitter if you use Twitter that is.

I hope everyone here can support my site by posting and selling for free on Dundilly.com - my goal is to unite all of us under one common goal - that is, to eliminate all FEES from auction sites. I fully support the use of all other auction sites besids Ebay and other giants out there.

I am going to create an Auction Affiliate page on Dundilly.com to exchange links and post their logo and a brief description about them so long as they do the same about Dundilly.com - what do you think?

Do you know of any other methods on getting users to post items for sell on your website? If so, please let me know! Appreciate the help!

Mr Dundilly

Arrow www.OfferMe.com.au

Laughing "OfferMe's base platform was designed to act like a virtual trading floor. There is no obligation for the user to purchase the item, nor is there a time frame for a seller to respond to a listed interest."

Cool "When a group of people share your interest, we'll do our best to get a Group Buy deal on your item!"

Shocked "OfferMe's Group Buy feature allows users with similar interests to get bulk buy prices on the items they're after."

Hello to all out there:

Cheekyoffer.com is the new fun way of buying and selling online.

We are a totally different format site; we are not another alternative site. We want people out there to be able to see this and feel confident in us and see the benefits (£ $ euro) in using us over other sites.

Come and have a look you have nothing to lose, it is FREE to register, FREE to upload, FREE to use the cheeky bulk uploader, FREE to use the templates, FREE to add bold, highlight and border, FREE to place your products as a featured listing on the home page, FREE to add up to 3 images. I think that just about says it all.

Oh and the FVF, this is also free.
So we have no fees ever

Except for your time you have nothing to lose, this really is a winner for all.

We would like to invite you to visit the site @ www.cheekyoffer.com and find out what all the fuss is about.

Best regards
The Cheekyoffer Team

Try www.adflyer.co.uk . It's probably the best buying/selling site I've ever used. Really easy to get started and they have something called a 'shop window' now, which is basically your own online shop where you can sell a load of items. I've bought and sold with them and have never had any problems.

Free listings, too, great rates.

I was reading kenzie list and it says bonanzle is not a true auction site. How does it differ?

mpearson,

Any site that's fixed price isn't technically an auction site.
ecrater, ruby lane, ioffer and probably dozens of others aren't either.
Auction site has become a rather generic term regardless of the marketplace selling formats.

Sellers do run their own in booth auctions on Bonanzle.
They use their booth chat box and bidding is done live with all participants in the chat.
Bonanzle's founders like their sellers creativity.

A brand new auction site that will be launched on 1st of June 2010.
Site is still in testing at the moment, but should be launched in June.

There are no listing fees, and no final value fees either!

Some fees for Bold, Highlighted, Category Featured, Home Page Featured..ect
Only one fee for sellers : GBP 1.99 - but this is already credited to your account when registering.
It is a seller verification fee, which will help us to make the site more secure.
Please visit http://www.icybid.com - where all fees are frozen. For life.

Even though BuggaBee.com only a month old, our team of developers have been working hard at making the site (SEO) Search Engine Optimized.

Our listings are showing up on the first and second page of Google.
You can list everywhere and anywhere you want, but if no one can find your items, you are out of luck.

Stop on in and give us a try, it's free.

Download our free BuggaBee BulkLister.

I did a search for "Mini Cooper Decal" in Google and there was nothing on the first 10 pages from BuggaBee. I then tried Google Shopping because that is where you would be submitting your products and still, no luck. I then checked Google Shopping for ANYTHING from BuggaBee. Struck out there too.

It is easy to type item titles EXACTLY as you have listed and show up on low Google pages. The real test of a site's SEO is to use vague, short and generic terms like the one I tried to see how a site is really placing. This is how buyers do their searches.

The main Google search engine spiders will eventually get around to showing products in your site but I would strongly suggest doing feeds to Google Products and other search engines on your own initiatve to get higher search rankings.

Good luck.
