PostPosted: Thu Dec 07, 2006 4:01 pm Post subject:  Wagglepop #1 Back to top

I've been a seller on Wagglepop for about 3 or 4 months. I don't honestly pay a whole lot of attention over there, and I haven't done a great job promoting my store as I'm still in the learning phases and my eBay store pays for everything anyway! But, I've seen Wagglepop deliver on their promises, and I'm very excited. But the store numbers are dropping over there, although the listing counts aren't.

I'm wondering if there are those of you who are on Wagglepop can't comment there but could comment here as to your thoughts on Wagglepop as a business home. My store is of course templates and logos so it's a little different than my eBay store. I'm wanting to make the switch as we all are, but I'm wondering how your experiences with Wagglepop has been - both good and bad?

Thanks!
Miranda

Hi,I was there about 2 months and didn't sell anything and had nobody even looking at my items. If there were people looking I would have stayed longer but with no hits I can't see paying a monthly fee. E-You,Later!

I was there for 2 to 3 months. I tracked the traffic, views, etc. I currently list on Ecrater, BluJay, HiBidder, Etsy and even have a few items left on Ebay Type . My reports indicate almost no traffic on WP. Zzz I was really surprised. It's certainly not worth what they are charging. I tried the Smart Pro package or whatever they call it. You are charged in advance on your monthly rate and if you close your store, no refund. Even Feebay gives a refund when you close your store early. I also found the site lacking in the most rudimentary elements found on most free sites. The site was clearly set up in haste, with no indicatioin of improvements to come. I see the owner making money hand over fist. My experience with WP was a lesson learned. I will not return to WP and would advise everyone to save your money and skip this disaster waiting to happen.

Good luck wherever you sell,

Rosemary

Thank you very much for your replies. I feel I'm lacking in knowledge and have increased dream capabilities. Sometimes it's hard for me to see the truth.

Please keep the replies coming, both good and bad!

Thanks!
Miranda

I had a store for 5 months, and I never sold one thing! people kept asking when WP going to advertise, management basically said maybe some time late 2007.

In the meantime stores are closing this morning there were four stores including mine that have closed, a few closed yesterday, CS is deleting messages they do not like or do not follow policy. In other words you write a complaint on the baords they pull the thread!

The numbers are constantly going down the store count is at 664 about six weeks ago it was nearly at 1000 stores. Managements said they wanted good quality sellers only and they were clearing out the rubbish sellers!

My advice don't waste your money

Sounds like they are doing a repeat of their first WP attempt. Don't be surprised if it just up and vanishes either. Would be true to form for Ray

Personally, I am surprised that anyone has given any support whatsoever to WP on their second go round, seeing as how users got the shaft the first time they went under...

I stayed right away because they charge up front fees. I went to read their boards and saw that you can't read them unless you are a member. Trying to hide something?

Just looked and now they are down to 659 stores. If I am not mistaken this morning the store count was at 666 or 668 stores.

I stayed away during the first round because both Leo of BC and Ray of WP were hitting all the boards and Both sounded exactly alike. So much so I got confused on who was who.

If you read the boards at ebay during the 06 fee hike... if the messages are still up... the Poppers sound like stoned out mindless zombies following a cult leader. Sorry if anyone here is a popper, but thats my impression.

Its ok to be excited about your sites, you're supposed to be... BUT, not to the point of "this site is the only site.. I'm right and your site is wrong."

Now as for community boards being closed... to me thats a no no. I agree with Eastwood... what are they trying to hide?

And site who has it's help and boards closed to non members is hiding something. Granted, you should be a member to post. But to read?

Help should be available to everyone. That availability might be your next million dollar seller.

Customer service should not be performed on public boards such as this. It should be conducted at the site. Then if a satisfactory solution cannot be made, blast em. But give the site a chance first.

Ok, my blood pressure is up now... I think I'll steal Lurky Lou's bones...

I agree with mojavelyn they do sound like a cult. I had a store over there for 3 months and made one sale. When people said they were closing there store due to lack of interest other sellers would really give them a hard time. Even the admin staff got in on it. I didn't even tell anyone I was closing my store just closed it. When you close your store you lose all your feedback everything. Have to sign up again to sell if you want. I go back sometimes and they sound just the same. They don't seem to understand that some people don't have the money to pay a monthly fee if nothing sells. I probably won't sell there again.

I left Wagglepop a few weeks ago after 4 months. I sold 3 things in that time. I was willing to make the effort, but all I heard all the time from Karen was that things wouldn't progress for months. I decided I might as well come back another time when things looked more promising.

However, when I was ready to leave, I got the post she gives about the ebay seller, the newbie and the trust based thing. What exactly does the trust based thing mean? We should go on blind faith? After I left and lost all my feedback, my name and even the use of my email, I decided I wasn't appreciated and have no reason to ever to ever go back. I also found it is difficult for a buyer to even learn anything about wagglepop unless they sign up. They are not even helpful in allowing buyers to know what they are getting into until they are a part of it. Rolling Eyes

Congrats LaurasWhatKnots, There is life after Wagglepop, bidchaser and ebay.

But yes, there will be a contender come forward... but its going to take work. And its going to take re-adjustment and re-education, for buyers and sellers.
