I have an eCrater store (Right As Rain Creations eCrater Store). It was really easy to set up and adding new products is simple too.
However, I do NOT like the shipping set-up. If you want to set shipping by weight, 1 lb is the least you can select. Most of my items sold singly are less than 1 lb. Plus, there is no way to offer a discount on multiple items purchased! I try to offer a price break on shipping when more than one bottle of lotion is purchased, because obviously it costs me less to mail more than one at a time.
Ok, there are my two cents! (however, in my store, I have more than two scents, lol)

Hi..RightAsRainCreations, and welcome to PSU!! Absolutely agree especially on the combined shipping for auctions!! We also MUST combine to have any business at all, as MOST of our buyers buy more than one item. (We sell mostly HBA, cosmetics, and jewelry, and if we did NOT combine, they would not buy ANY)!
Anyway, glad you are here, and HOPE that ecrater will implement their shipping handlings, as they appear to be a great site!!

Hey there Right as Rain creations - I so agree with ya too! The shipping 'system' there can definitely be improved upon - I don't use it at all, as it is too complicated 4 me!
One way around this, and the lack of combined invoice capability is to state your intent in your terms. I've gotta store over there yonder, and I just tell folks that I combine shipping when I can to save them $$. And - if they have interest in multi-items, just find me and I'll give 'em a quote.
I really wouldn't mind more 'automation' but - my stuff is so varied, I do use different shipping methods based on what, where, weight, etc... - so even the best tool in the world would prolly not meet my needs!!

That is a good idea 2BOYSandTOYS. Someday when I have time, I will go in and modify all my listings to explain multi-order discounts. :) |

Megan - I 'learned my wording' from others who were kind enuf to pass along their smarts! If anything I have in my terms, conditions or listings is of value, feel free to use as you can!!!
I have had to do some 'edits' on eCrater, and the process does goes pretty quicky!!! :D :D
Another thing I learned from those far smarter than I ---- repeat your terms/conditions in each listing as well as on your pages/about me - more than 1 place...then - they might actually get read!! :? :wink: |

Megan - congrats on the sale ----- yippee, yahoo for ya - doing my happy dance! I've had to make some 'edits' globally for my items there - I had the word bidding in my listings (duh....store vs. auction)! It's not fun, but it does goes fairly quick!
Here's to many more sales 4 us all - !! :D :D |

Shipping is horrible on ecrater. I started off trying to figure out the shipping charts because I ship all over the world, then finally gave up and just offered FREE shipping instead. :-)
If a customer purchases more than one item, I'll just e-mail them and give them the discount that way (although I'm not getting ANY sales on ecrater so it's very frustrating at the moment :-( |
