I just signed up for Google checkout and now on some other sites people are saying there is a problem with it. I haven't even got a chance to use it so I don't know yet.

Personally I haven't had any problems at all with GC.
I haven't had any sales thru it for a few days tho.
On the GC boards, there are some people bashing Checkout, but from reading some of the posts, some of them are just plain dumb.
Some are blaming GC for non- performing sellers when they should be going thru their credit cards. Others can't seem to figure out how to use the buttons. HINT - you shouldn't be using the GC buttons. You need to use a cart that will work with GC.
Unfortunately the GC rep, Joel, hasn't been around the boards as much as he should be to answer the questions. That has created a bit of a bad atmosphere over there.
It's too bad too, as I think GC is going to be just fine eventually. Yes there are a few quirks and kinks to work out, but it's coming along pretty well I think.

Thanks for lettig me know how you feel as I wasn't sure what to think. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens if I ever have someone purchase through it.

Joyce - I've had one buyer use it, and I didn't have any issues (other than my own learning curve....)!
I agree with Carol - and am hoping it becomes a great competitor to PP! :D :D |

I just had an order at GC from eC and it's still in "review". That just means that GC is taking a little longer before they approve the credit card.
Usually that happens within a minute or so, but occasionally it will take a bit longer. Usually that just means that the site has slowed down for some reason -- like maybe they are a bit busier.
It's not a big thing and has happened before and has never been a problem.

| About a third of my buyers use it to checkout...no one has ever reported a problem. (unlike PP which about a third have problems with....at which point I conveniently suggest they try GC) 8) |
