|
|
Hello folks
I've embraced eCrater some months ago as one of the venues for my service as a dealer and book store for Collectible Russian and Ukrainian Books
I've had a few quality sales through my eCrater store for Russian and Ukrainian books Rus-Ukr-Pol
Problem : although my shipping matrix is set to zero , and I use free shipping buttons and should have free shipping. Members are charged $6.75 shipping when paying by Paypal ???
Could it be a Paypal issue?
As eCrater store ,pages ,carts and e-mail alerts sent to me all read zero.
Anyone else have such a shipping bug? |

I'm not having this issue, but - going from memory, someone else did. When they checked out the details, the 'fee' was actually in a profile someplace at PP - like in a prefilled handling or something like that.
I guess - I offer that perhaps in one of the two (PP or eCrater) there is a fee that arbitrarily is in a field.
Have ya tried that? :D
If so, perhaps someone else will 'bop along'. If ya need a tester, let me know -  |

In your paypal profile, under shipping calculations, make sure there are no preset shipping amounts set. I had the same problem initially with my shopify store, till I found those settings and reset them to zero.

| Log into your Paypal account and make sure the override check box is checked in your Profile. If omitted, and your Profile-based shipping is enabled, your customer will be charged the amount or percentage defined in your profile. |

It is definatly a PP issue and I hope the tips given here work for you.
Knowing who owns the company tho, don't count on it.
I know I've had issues where PP adds in the shipping twice. It's put in at the BJ or eC bill and then again at PP. It's something PP does because the amount added is not the amount in my PP shipping matrix for my web site and I DO have the over ride checked whenever I look at that.
I only had it at those 2 sites too. I haven't seen it for a while but like most of the E glitches, it's not gone, just in hiding.

Thanks for the information on this - I didn't know that either, so went in to my Profile in PayPal and, sure enough, it was set up for a fee on shipping.
PayPal really is a crap company - setting up with them is a pain because there are no step by step instructions, so you don't think you have a problem until someone points out that you actually DO.
Then again, owned by EBay, what else would I expect - LOL! |
