I am considering getting a store, but i really don't want to, for 2 reasons. 1, i already pay for 3 lots of hosting, and 2, i want it built in to my already-successful website.

The problem is, i am having trouble setting joomla up because i think my hosts have restricted database access so joomla cant set up its tables...

so i guess the only option i have is to have you guys set me up with 1 already on my 4th hosting plan  and then link to it from my website, thus lowering professionalism. unless anyone has any better ideas..?

We just added a new reason on why you should get a store with us. We just created a module for Google Checkout.

If you decide to get a store from us you can always have the domain to your already successful website point to your new store.

ok without posting the site which i dont really want to do for paranoid reasons, that wouldnt be any good. My website is a kinda community, has all sorts, the shop is only a small part of the site, so i cant point the whole domain to your servers unless i moved the entire site, which would be a whole lot of hassle and i have already paid for my hosting up-frnt so would be a waste too...

I don't know ... i don't even really need a shop i have it all running with paypal buttons, i just thought it would be nice to have a proper shop but there doesn't seem to be an easy solution for my circumstances :( i've emailed some people about getting support, if it doesnt work out i might decide to get one here and link to it.

thanks

I had my first site all set up with paypal buttons too, which doing them by hand was a real pain, but I bit the bullet and really wanted a more professional look to my store so I came to PSU. I still have another venture which I am going to move here in the near future to PSU as well.
I know you don't really want to mess with all the time and work you put into your site as of now but i was really glad that I did! :D

If you just have the PP buttons, you could do what I did for my store -- change all the buttons to Mal's Cart buttons. They are almost exactly the same as the PP buttons (tho you can do more with them) and Mal's has their cart integrated with Google Checkout and PP.

So you can set up payment options for any of the things you are comfortable with. At first I set-up mine for both PP and GC. Mal's does merchant accounts too. I'm just using the FREE version too. But since my hassle with eBay I took out the PP option. It took all of about 20 seconds to make the change.

Take a look at my site and feel free to play with the buttons. Nothing is final until you click to checkout. I'm still working on some of the descriptive pages as I needed to take out the PP stuff, but all the "buy" buttons are current and active.
