Hello, I am a small business that sells womens accessories, What is a good online payment system to use, besides Google Checkout, they advised, that I could not use them any longer due to what I sell, handbags mainly. Someone please help. Thanks. Google was great but not good for online handbag sellers. Does anyone have any suggstions?

IMHO, without Google Checkout, you're probably stuck with....eeeew, Paypal, and/or getting your own merchant account.

What I find curious is that Google Checkout would not allow you to sell your items using them as a payment processor?

Well, I was there for 2 months, and I did over $20,000.00 in sales each month with no chargebacks. I did have one a client falsley complain about my product because they wanted to do a chargeback with thier credit card company to get thier money back It was against my store policy to do refunds. Beware sellers, if you have any dishonest customers asking thier credit card company for money back, even if it is against your store policy, Google will shut your account down. Thats what they did to me.

Well, they told me that due to my content on my website, that it was against thier policy, they want me to submit documentation of authenticy of my products since I sell designer goods, but they still have failed to be specfic with me on what documents they need. Does anyone know of any good merchant processing for designer handbags?

Well you may want to try Money Bookers

They don't have charge backs , and are less squeamish then most as they even handle online gambling and other touchy topics.

You can try Xcoin , I dont see any rules for handbags in the terms
https://www.xcoin.com

Other then that may have to use Paypal........but if you generate such high sales why not just get a merchant account ???? :?

Likely get more sales through conventional merchant account , and Paypal or Moneybookers would be a backup service.

Sounds like you are in a tough position, luxx, and that's based on what you sell. I can see both sides, though. Google is being ultra-conservative and protective of buyers using their payment processing, and we have all heard the jillions of horror stories associated with folks being ripped off by so-called authentic handbag sellers.

I can see your side, too, though, if your handbags are authentic. Don't take offense, none is intended, but could you not fax to Google copies of your authenticity cards and vendor invoices? You've already shared your SSN and bank info if you applied for GCO, so may as go whole hog if you really want to use their payment processor.

I can tell you this from experience - if you get a merch account, no matter what your store policies are, the credit card companies have their own policies, and they overrule yours. I used to have a 30 day full refund except shipping policy. Had some lady who claimed she meant to send a ring set back (no email to me, mind you, although all returns required an RMA), had it in the back seat of her car for almost 60 days. I refused to take the set back, and bing, she filed a CB, and MasterCard gave her a full refund, even the shipping. So now I just give 'em a refund if they want it, less shipping, easier than hassling!

I'm seriously checking into Moneybookers for 2007, I've heard a lot of international buyers really like it, and am working to get more of them into my store.

Good luck!

I use StormPay. They charge $1 or less per transaction and have been in business since 2002.

As long as you give a personal guarantee that the bags are authentic any merchant account provider would approve you. and since you are doing well over $3,000 / month, you would actually save money using a real merchant account. Also the money is transfered to your bank the same day as appose to after a few business days.

Ja if you generate such impressive cash flow why not opt for a Merchant account?

The % would be the same
the flat fee would not be an issue for you
and the chargeback risks would be not as bad as with Paypal

Moneybookers would be a good idea as a backup ,but go get a Merchant account !

There was another site I saw advertised. Online payment set up similar to PP. I think I saw it on PSU. Anyone else see it /look into it? ( I think I have it bookmarked on one of my puters...somewhere!)

I assume Propay? Kind of expensive and I see little advantage

pppay.com? better but European only :(

I think alot of these alternatives to Paypal (with exception of Checkout and Moneybookers) are not very good.

E-Gold is great , but not so much for selling sundry and books......Condo's in Namibia or Vespa clones from Hanoi ,yes

I joined Xcoin and comforted that Overstock uses it , and some other sites but no one has insisted in paying via it yet.

For a Paypal wannabe I would go with Xcoin

All the others such as Stormpay I don't trust
