Hi, I am looking for a program with well designed export capabilities so that I'll be able to list my items on multiple sites.
Does PSU easily export items to excel? And are photos automatically assigned a web address that can also be exported?
I was using TL but noticed that when I exported to excel, the description of the item turned into gibberish. I need a good exporting system.
Thanks in advance for your help,

| The PSU store exports to a csv file which can be read by excel. The image is exported with just the file name. Example "myimage.jpg" but all product images are in the same directory which means they all have the same url so you can just append the url to the column that holds the image name. You can probably make a excel macro that does that. |

How did you export your items with TL? If you use TL2 you can export them as File Exchange files which shouldn't contain any gibberish. |

I don't know if I understand this correctly...
In excel if you have the URL Path in one column (Say Column A) and you have the picture in (say Column D). If you wanted to Create a Full URL (lets say in Column F) you would just use the APPEND text (also called Concatenate) expression which is the AMPERSAND Character &.
So in Column F to create the full URL Path and File Name the cell formula would look something like this.
= A1 & D1 |

Alter,
Yes that's exactly how you could do it.
I do my templates that way too. You set several columns for the "unchangeable" parts of your template. And columns where the description and pics change and then at the end use the & to add them altogether for the full description that gets copied to a site.

I use the latest version of turbo lister but the description in excel looks like this:
@@@@%<TABLE>%0D%0A%0D%0A<TR>%0D%0A<TD><BR>%0D%0A<STYLE>%0D%0A<!-- %0D%0A .decobgborder {background-color:#30323C}%0D%0A .decobgcol
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong? I use a template in TL - could that be the cause?
I suppose I could just create my own excel file and find somewhere to permanently host my photos.

| It looks like your description is taking all the html tags you used to create your listing. So it is actually correct. Try making a listing with only text for the description and then export it. I bet it will be a lot more readable in excel. |

| Are you running an OS Commerce shop? If so, I have an application you can put online, which will allow you to export the items, into our auction platform, as Buy it now items, at www.auctionquests.com - We are also in development stages with a Desk top application, which will allow you to grab your listings from ebay, yahoo, overstock, bidville, wagglepop, and any other probid site out there - for importation into AQ with a click of your mouse. |

I am also interested in a PSU site. I have 7,000 items that would need to be bulk uploaded for-sale.
Is this possible with a PSU site?
I can put them into an excel spreadsheet in .csv or .tab format.
Thanks,

Yes you can use a csv file to upload products. attached is an example.
The only required fields are "product_sku", "product_name" , "category_path" |

brandibook,
Lots of us have used the csv import for our PSU stores. Very handy tool.
Did you take a look at the Demo stores (both Admin side and Store side) in the Ecommerce Hosting box on the left side of the page.
I think you'd like it.
Check it out and see what you think,
