LEE COUNTY: Internet auction fraud is the number one cyber crime in Southwest Florida. It surpasses identity theft, even credit card fraud. There’s a new way scammers are taking advantage of you, by faking their feedback rating so you can’t tell good sellers from bad.

eBay shopper Andy Hooper never had a problem purchasing items until he bought two wireless Playstation controllers.

"The joystick wasn't working so I changed out the batteries, went back and tested it again and the joystick still wasn't working," said Hooper.

Hooper contacted the seller, but says he got the runaround. he finally gave up and lost his $50. He was surprised because he checked out the seller before buying.

Totally agree Patty!
On ebay this is a common fact yet is just now drawing national media attention.

It'll be interesting to see how many other news organizations pick up on this...If any.

Nobody will pick it up and that's because they'll have to buckle down and try to understand it. This is nothing new - what would be earth-shaking is if they honestly tried to stamp out fraud!
