every day i seem to find out something more amazing. this AM i discovered that one cannot say "cock" on the BV msg boards--the letters are replaced by "****". which results in phrases like "****er spaniel."

i've complained to google about this because they kick phrases out of the search box when strict safesearch is on. (try searching fer "bikini"! you cant buy a bikini???) i think this is wrong--the results should be filtered, not the search terms!
:?

i thought that was bad--but i havent seen anything so stupid as what i saw on BV this AM since the heydays of compuserve, when members hadda refer to "hooter cancer".

i couldnt make this stuff up...

The censorship is dumb, but the members wanted the site clean of 'nasty' words.

The thread about hot tubs is dumb, too, and offensive, even if the words are censored out. Would you want your kids to read some of the things you are putting in that thread, folks???

Hey, if you want to talk about anything under the sun, just go on over to etsy. Here's an example of the daily drivel...

Or just cruse the "etc" forum there...and be amazed.

I'm so behind....dunno about a hot-tub thread, but - hope I don't see it, based on T-t!!!

I think one of the 'best' of censorship for me is that I sell Dickie's brand clothing once in a while. I can't even remember which site now, but I put up a stocking cap from Dickies...

Well - looking thru my listings several days later, the word was 'missing' in the title....

I assumed I missed an entire word, and quite an important one, so redid the title. Went back and looked - nope...not me!

Then looked at the listing, and same thing in the content - 8)

What was 'killing me' - it would show on preview, but not on publish!!!

Thought I was absolutely coo-coo (which I am...but not this bad) - had to write in and ask that there be a fix!! :D

All 'related' to the same - yes....at times, censorship does present some 'extreme challenges' - eh? :D :?
