Bidville members (some, certainly not all) are using the dying Yahoo auctions to advertise Bidville, by placing 'I moved to Bidville" auctions on the yahoo auctionsite.
They have quite a few interesting ways of justifying what is obviously a violation of Yahoo TOS. Nothing like kicking someone while they're down and dying.

gotta love 'em, bless their souls.

These "I moved to Bidville" ads are coming from the yahoo auction sellers that are moving to Bidville.

The yauctionsellers group is discussing several auction sites to move to and Bidville is high on their list; they like it. Many have begun to list already and are notifying their customers; this is another method of notification.

When I was actively listing at yahoo, every single one of my auctions had links and banners to my web store. If it was a TOS violation, yahoo has been asleep at the wheel for years.

We've had this discussion here before-everyone agreed that outside links on yahoo auctions was not within their tos. And yes, a lot of people made the argument that Yahoo would not notice these.
To each his own, I suppose. But when in doubt, I prefer to follow my conscience, which is pretty strict on me!

interesting. I just took a look at Yahoo auctions and noticed what you are talking about.

I also noticed that some are doing the exact same thing about ebay.

maybe you should post that in the Ebay forum so that everyone there has a heads up about it also.

No, I'm not going to worry about it anymore. As our old ag teacher used to say-never wrestle with a pig. he enjoys it, and you just get dirty.

Yes I did. Thank you for doing that. I've got that video all over the place. Hopefully it will help bring in some traffic.

But, this is such a pressing issue that I don't see it as fair to not let the Ebay crowd know whats going on. Personally, I don't care. But, whats wrong for one is wrong for another..........right?

Angel, I didn't call you a pig. I'm not arguing with you...I don't think!?
And I meant what I said. I've stated my opinion, and now I'm through.

Join Pheebay, tails. At the moment, how many sellers do you see representing Bidville on this page?

My link is red and not clickable yet because I haven't started listing yet and haven't submitted the link.

Texas-Treasures...don't worry about it. Long day...no offense taken.

Pigs seem to like anything they can roll in-water, mud, their feed. They are also crazy about cranberry juice!

Edited to add-that's to drink, not to roll in!

Frankly, after being at several sites for more than a year, Bidville is the site I would least likely pick to move my Y listings to. But to each their own.

I understand what you mean. Years ago, I did a pretty good business there. But when online auctions decreased in popularity, the small sites like BV really suffered. Add to that several changes in management and some benign neglect lately, and it has really gone downhill.

That's a shame for several reasons. It is very user friendly, when it's all working correctly. A lot of sellers have put a lot of energy into promoting the site in the absence of any mgt advertising. I'm sorry that those people have done so much, with so little to show for it. But that's life on the internet-a lot of pros have fallen beside the technology roadside, as well, over the years. It's just a tough market.

All the time I listed at Yahoo, which was a joke anyway with bad catagories, I always added
It pays to check fb at the bottom of all my listings, click on it and it would show where I was or had sold at.
Nobody said a word ever...

Sadly Yahoo dropped the ball twice in the auction business, and I don't feel sorry one bit for the way they lost it..
