From the ebay discussion board
Test: Expansion of Best Offer
We are running a limited test that will expand the Best Offer feature. On Fixed Priced listings with Best Offer enabled, buyers can submit one offer price for the item that the seller can choose to accept or decline. However, during this test, buyers will be able to submit more than one offer per listing in certain subcategories within Cameras & Photo, Consumer Electronics, and Jewelry & Watches. Based on the results, we may make this a permanent expansion in the future.link to ebay discussion |

[B]This sounds almost like haggling to me...
In the old days buyers and sellers would go back and forth on the price of an item while ending up somewhere in the middle (usually)...IE negotiating
The buyer receives a better price while the seller moves his merchandise, yet makes less on his product....
By reading the boards over there I don't see many sellers agreeing to this new way of bidding that has been introduced...
Time will tell if this benefits the buyer or seller

That's the site I was trying to think of last night xppman!
Ioffer.com where you list an item and buyers offer you pennies on the dollar for your merchandise...I never sold anything there because I never understood their concept in bidding...
If I list an item for $9.99, that is the least amount of what I need for that item, not $1.99 which is about the type of replies I was receiving...
Received another notice from ebay this am reference them offering a 50% discount on certain features--Wooopee!!--Two days only! 6/13 and 6/16
Ebay is getting disparate to bring in more users...You can tell by all of these discount offers now being offered to sellers...At times, some are worth the $$ to list while mostly it's just another way for them to make more $$
