hey guys I created a website that predominantly sells brass knuckles and other items like that. I started it by using google checkout and after two orders they shut me down.

I was told I could list them as paperweights or belt buckles and it might not be a problem.

I know other companies sell these on the internet. does anyone know of any merchant providers I could use and not have to constantly worry about being shut down?

I've worked really hard to get this off the ground but it's frustrating when ebay/google come in and shut down your hard work

thanks in advance!

I use paypal for a merchant account. $20 per month + low fees. Works well.

Hello,
We can set you up with a low rate merchant account. I cant see anything about your business that would cause us to terminate your account. We have a few merchants who sell knives, bow and arrows and bb guns, Chinese stars, etc.

Thanks,
Steffan

It is not advisable to choose a merchant account provider without comparing important elements such as fees, services offered, terms, conditions etc. strictly avoid opting for a merchant account provider prior to gathering price quotes. This will help you get quality service at better rates.

Your discussions above are very informative.
However I have to admit, I do not fully understand
what a merchant account is. Can anybody explain it
to me and how it works? Thanks much!

I would recommend you to use AlertPay. AlertPal is an excellent payment solution for a business on a low budget that wants to get up and running quickly and easily. In the long term you may outgrow it and move to a more flexible merchant account solution.
