Hi all just thought i would meantion my new sites its only 4 month old.

My auction site is very simple i do not charge any fees or end of auction commission fees, as my main aim is to keep it free my over heads are very low and my income is generated from a 3rd party and myself.

What are the fees? Our site is free to use with no fees to pay. (optional extras)

I have in place a scam protection system that enable me to keep track of what goes on inside the auction and delete any bogus accounts, and monitor all emails sent to sellers and buyers, for fraud and scam prevention. i operate a live support service.

The auction site is based in the UK and operates worldwide with many customers from all over the world each new users can decide what currency they choose $ YEN CAD EURO and much more, the auction script as been redone by myself and i am currently working on some new features SMS text to phone when a bid is placed, feedback link from other sites, bulklister is ready for download so you can upload from your desktop.

We have a very good customer service full live support and contact based emailing, and new support forum.

http://www.bidup.org/

Each new users gets 5 credit to use towards your account but in most case if you have only a few items to list it should go a long way.

As the site is new and opened on the 25 march 2005 it will take a while for it to get know the Alexa ranking is 155,031

Nice looking site. Pretty good pageranking for an auction site that is only 4 months old. Did it used to be something else before?

Hi cheers for the reply, no the site was all new from start i was a bit surprised by the PageRank as well. Hopefully it should increase over time its got a good ranking too would should help its future.

So far for its age it doing well.

I was going to charge extras to use the site but decided not too, as it earns enough on google ads, to pay the hosting etc, so in turn i can pass the savings on to my customers and future customers.

Regards

Hi all just thought I would update you about the progress I am making on Biduptoday.

When I opened the auction site on 25 march 2005 I had no users and no listings so far to date the stats stand at just under 500 users and counting and over 1100 items up for auction.

27217.11 Worth of Items On Sale
245.43 Worth of Bids Placed!
61 Successful Sales Since March 2005!
The figures above are updating them self's every time the auction gets updated by the users.

I have a long way to go yet before I reach my target for the year but I am confidant it can be done with the constant promoting of the site and exchanging the site with other sites should not be a problem.

Fee structure

There are no fees or charges for browsing, viewing, making offers, or listing items. The only charges that are made are any of the auction enhancements a seller can choose to receive when listing an item.

Additional Listing Options
You can choose to make your listing stand out from the rest by choosing to list with any combination of auction enhancements listed below. They are: Second Category, Extra Images, Highlighted, Bold Title, Category Featured, Home Page Featured & Swap.

Extra Images GBP 0.30 Up to 8 Images!
Enhanced Highlighted Fee GBP 0.25
Enhanced Bold Items Fee GBP 0.25
Category Featured Items Fee GBP 0.50
Home Page Featured Items Fee GBP 2.50
Swap Fee GBP 0.35

Free Features

Standard Auction Listing with Image (No Fee)
Item Relisting (No Fee)
Wanted Ad Setup (No Fee)
Seller's Store (No Fee)
Members Blog Page (No Fee)
Import eBay or Yahoo Feedback (No Fee)

Listing Fee

From 0.01 to Above (0%)

End of Auction Fee

From 0.01 to Above (0%)

The auction site is a free to use service with the optional extras listed above the auction site also submits your items to bidhopper and bidfind and they is a rss feed.

http://www.biduptoday.com/rss.php

Froggle feed is being setup and will be available to use in about a weeks time, also they is a bulklister which is being updated with an ebay CSV turbolister which means you can upload your ebay auctions to biduptoday auction from your desktop.

Current mods in progress SMS to phone when a bid is placed it will text your phone to say a bid as been placed.

Security systems in place

BCC Monitoring technology, that enables us to Screen, monitor and track our auction constantly and delete and ban users who are thinking of committing a scam or fraud on our auction site.

The Open Proxy and Country Ban

Has been born out of a need of necessity. Since the beginning of time, there has always been an idiot in every crowd, who wants to cause as much trouble as possible. Scammers & Fraudster who want to scam anyone and everyone possible.

Why would we want to do this? A few brief reasons:

Eliminate countries which yield mass quantities of Scams (IE: Nigeria)
A user trying to hide their identify via an open proxy is generally a problematic user or fraudster
Will this ban those users who are forced to use proxies? (IE: AOL)

NO! AOL users, and any other user who is 'forced' to use a proxy, will not be banned. Why? The proxy servers these ISP's utilize are SECURED and are not 'wide open access' servers.

SSL is being setup waiting for Cert, CSR and Key to be setup.

Please take a few moment to visit us, if you have anything to sell give us a try.

We rank 1st on google for the word bidup more ranking stats to be confirmed.

Andrew

Hi Earthfragments Glad you like the site.

Regarding the Google Froogle Feed, just had my account with google setup, which is good news for my sellers, just waiting for the Mod to arrive so I can get it setup, I am hoping to have it done this weekend.

Thank you very much for the kind words elgato,

I think it will have to be Lemon cake please  I got 2 Goldens and a Cat called mush  and they all live happy together.

Regarding the auction site just getting the froogle feed setup, just uploading 2500 music items from eBay for one of my PowerSeller which comes part of the service to get more sellers onboard.

Other then that I am happy with the progress it has made in a short time its been online.

If any of you are ebay powersellers or ebay users with a few items contact me via site and I will get them uploaded for you to the auction site.

Hi all after a few hours setting up the froogle feed, I am pleased to say everything as uploaded perfect.

It will take a couple of hours for it to go live on froogle, once that is completed I will update this thread with auction link.

What is Froogle?

When a user lists an item on Biduptoday the auction will also submit the item to Froggle for the world to see, froogle is a massive online shopping centre, and is used by millions of users from around the world everyday.

For more information please visit google
