I've noticed a hugh increase in my page views and a increase in sales also that started shortly after the chat boards went away. I'll also note that this was about the time Yahoo closed up so maybe it's not just from the boards going bye-bye, but more folks looking for a good place to buy things.

I think that maybe people are looking at items now that they can't just sit and chat with their bidding buddies.
So I've increased my listings at BidVille and will continue to do so for awhile.

Let me also note that I still see no evidence of Bidville feeding google or any of the other search engines. So it's really hard to understand the increase in page views coming from outside BidVille.

I have to totally agree with you on sales being up since boards went down.
Have had a lot of people e mail me and ask why and oh well guess I will list there now..
My sales in the store is finally moving along...

I do know I'm getting the stores into a google feed, but not as much as I would like to see it.

I'm not sure about the page views but lightning has struck twice with 2 sales in 5 days for me (23rd and 28th> when before I was getting 1 sale every month or every 2 months at BV . Sometimes sales are new users trying to get feed back but the 2 buyers had no auctions listed so I don't think that was the case this time.

I don't have anything to compare to because I didn't list on Bidville until Yahoo closed, but I can say I have sold 16 items on Bidville since 6/12/07.

Hey all - great news on both fronts...the pageviews and the sales. I'm always thrilled to hear of any OFF-eBaY success!

A quick clarification/question - is BV no longer feeding Google/Products? I could have sworn recently that I did see BV as an option when searching for items to buy - am I dreaming this?

If the feeds aren't happening anymore - is there any information that suggests they will again feed to google?

Appreciate any insight!!! :D :D

well, my page views havent increased, & neither have my sales! and i've got at least one item listed that somebody had axed fer on the "wanted" board before it was shut down...not that that ever seemed to make a difference!

Hate to say it,but I am selling books and a couple of video games like crazy on Ebay and havent had a sale on BV since 6-2 and they havent paid yet. I just about forgot what a sale felt like till I decided to try Ebay again. I have tried selling on 3 other places too with not much luck.

Yep, I tried the bay too after being away along time. Spent $13.00 to list 6 items, got nothing in return.
There are lots of other places outside of the bay that don't charge listing fees that have the same or better results.

I agree views are up I dont know the cause but I like it what ever is causing it.

Yes, I am having the same positive results. The page hits have gone up alot. I am listing all items there right now. Also, sold 5 items within a week . I still think BV has the most potential because of the easy search methods, very buyer friendly. Good luck all. :D

I actually sold 3 items to someone there last night...first sale in months, there. It may turn out to be the best thing BV could have done, shutting down the boards!

By the way, I wrote CS and asked them about the google feed. They say it is still being done, so who knows. I never see BV on the search, but that doesn't mean they're not there.

I'm seeing a lot of activity on sales for me with boards closed and have to agree it's about the best thing they could have done really.
The boards would have been so useful if they had been used properly.
Would hope down the road that some kind of board that would help sellers and buyers will come around.

I do find things I list on Bidville stores and Auctions showing up on google feed.
Has as been said got to have a Take it price to show though...

I use google alerts to see where and how any items I have listed will show up and where...

seems like i'm the only person here who had more sales when the boards were working!

Our sales have just about come to a standstill since they closed the boards. Both our auction views and sales are significantly down.

The sudden drop in sales made us search for another alternative site to list on, in addition to Bidville. Now, we're just trying to make half the sales we were making on a regular basis on Bidville.

We're very disappointed about the closure of the boards.

me too. but i guess BV was just overwhelmed by the clamor. like people have said on this thread, the boards are a good resource IF used properly. i have found that to be the case at overstock too.
