Thank you for sharing GIGI - I'll let those over on Yahoo know that you got a response suggesting it is secure.

I know that several Y sellers wrote to BV asking about this - as of last week, they did not have an answer. I'm hopeful they too got the message from BV!

I wrote to them last week, and got the reply that they are in fact, doing the feed. That may account for the increase in views.
IF BV allowed free gallery pictures, I'd be listing there. The fact that they do not, probably hurts them. How many auction sites charge for gallery pictures, besides Ebay?? BV is not Ebay and needs to change this policy if they want to grow....but maybe they don't. I know someone will jump in here and say it's not that much, but it is, when you have to relist things so many times in order to sell it. On low ticket items, it pretty much eats up any potential profit!

That's great news! I've never seen the whole word "secure" at the beginning of a URL, just the "s". And, I see the secure logo on the actual sign-in page but not on the home page, which is also a bit odd, but kudos to BV management for making log-in secure.

Unfortunately, a members personal information remains on a non-secure page.

Well....dang-nabit - I wonder if they intend to make the user information secure? I suppose that's not a 'huge deal' to all, but I'd sure like it to be secure - makes me feel more 'warm and fuzzy'... :oops: 8)

Let's look at the other side of the picture. Most of the sites giving free gallery are newbie sites with less listings and views than Bidville has.
With over a half million sports cards listed on Bidville, do you realize how much server space all those pictures would take up? It cost a little money to buy, set up and maintain servers.
A dime for a gallery pic is cheap, I use them often, but not always.
I also see alot of folks paying $5.00 a pop for home page and catagory featuring. And I'll tell you, it really does increase your page views 10 fold and is well worth the price.
