PayPal, the online payment service owned by e-commerce giant eBay Inc. [NASDAQ: EBAY], has opened an Austin technology development center and plans to staff it with as many as 300 people over the next two years.
The San Jose, Calif.-based company has leased a 37,000-square-foot office at 7700 West Parmer Ln. with an an option to expand it to 75,000 square feet to accommodate its growth by 2009, says PayPal spokesperson Amanda Pires.

Yeah, the double decker highways of Austin!!! And Texas is becoming the Silicon Valley of the South.
Why is this???? Taxes are lower in general, and Texas has no State income tax!!!
GAWD!!! I miss TEXAS!!!! |

Well this new PP center might just come in handy if I have an issue with PP :twisted: It's a mere 3 1/2 houur drive :twisted:
True also what MO is stating reference no state tax, along with more economical & available floor space and yes, cheaper labor costs. :roll: |

Texas give the big companies tax breaks also for moving there. Austin can begin to give DFW a little run for the money in the IT world. Was it Apple or Dell that moved to Austin?
And the lakes are up... next year there should be some good fishing again... |
