Bidville credit card processing issues ARE NOT resolved.

I have my paypal credit card on file with Bidville to pay seller account fees. I logged onto PayPal this morning and noticed that Bidville had charged my card for $5.26, the total amount due on my account.

I also received this email from BV:

Dear bri24fan:

You're not the only one, it is the latest in the series of problems BV is having. I'm sure you'll hear from the others, or you can read the thread at the BVchat.
I just finished closing all of my auctions and wrote BV requesting that my account be closed...for the first time in 7 years. I simply no longer trust the BV software and don't want them involved in my finances in any way. That's really sad, but I can see where this may really be the final blow for BV.

This does not appear to be true. It is true that the seller cannot access his items. However, I went to a sellers listing that I knew had a frozen account and the system allowed me to place a bid.

What a mess!

osu2412 - welcome to PSU....sorry to hear you arrive with 'bad news'. I'm hopeful that you can get quick resolution - and there are many here who appear to have more input/pull with BV that may be able to help you!

The accounting system (my guess) has some issues that were announced here a few days ago. The site had an update on the front page, but then - if memory serves me correctly - the message went off yesterday. This led some to assume that the issues were resolved.

I think you're in better shape than others; at least with PP you can dispute quickly - if you are using a credit card, the process can be more detailed and longer.

Glad you're here and sorry for the issues Bidville has caused you...

I have been paying BV for years through Paypal - now they suddenly claim my charge card is expired and want a new one.

Whenever I log in to BV, I see a "security warning" on my computer. I hope they really do have an expired charge card number - I DO NOT WANT AN INSECURE SITE TO HAVE MY CHARGE CARD NUMBER and I see nothing ethical about customer service at BV.

The real problem with BV's customer service is they only have two employees. This credit card problem could take a very long time to resolve.

Meanwhile, their uBid site is running like a finely tuned machine...

I think that's the thing that hurts the most.

When Ubid bought BV last year, many of us hoped that they would apply some of the stuff that the Ubid site had. Instead it seems they simply bought the site and then forgot about it. They even took the BV link off the Ubid pages.

As a member of BV, I think this whole thing is insulting to us. What are we -- the crazy uncle you keep hidden away in the attic ?? That's about how we are being treated by the owners it seems.

I emailed BVCS about this time yesterday morning. No response yet.

I did get another automated email from BV this morning with yet another reminder to update my CC info or I will be suspended within 12 days and all of my auctions will be removed.

At this point I would like to remove them all myself and be done with those jokers. But of course I can't do that since I am blocked from my own auctions. :x

I was excited too... I thought, finally, a reputable company was in control of BVs future.

It's not really funny, but lmao!

Until very recently the banner below, so proudly displayed on BVs home page, used to point to uBids home page...

Now, it points to this page...

http://www.ubid.com/sell_online/default.asp?TRACK=106

In conjunction with this ad that appears at auctionbytes, the intent seems pretty clear...

I guess they think they will overcome the fact that the uBid brand name is closely connected to the failure of BV. They're probably right. It's a dog eat dog world, and once again BV falls victim to the wolves.

This leads to U Bids home page as it always did...

????????????
Your point being????

I'm not having any troubles with my account at all, it's on a cc and nothing got changed or updated on the card,
so I missed all the problems all seem to be having...Weekends always seem to mess people up, stupid but it happens.

I asked Cs about it and got the answer that,it is with the Authorization company that is making all the mess for the site.

I am a featured store and pay every 3 months and all went well with the charge.

I think a credit card on file is better than paying with pay pal, all you do is dispute the charge.
Has always worked well for me if I find a strange charge on my card...

No Joan, before the banner led to this page...

http://www.ubid.com/

Now, it leads to this page...

http://www.ubid.com/sell_online/default.asp?TRACK=106

If you can't discern the difference and what it implies that's your problem ;)
