PayPal launched Mobile Checkout, a service allowing consumers in the U.S., U.K. and Canada to buy items securely using the mobile web, on July 10, 2007. The company had confirmed in March that it was testing a mobile checkout service with a handful of merchants.
To use PayPal Mobile Checkout, a consumer can visit a merchant's website and purchase items by clicking on the PayPal button - all from their mobile device.
