Users of PayPal's Website Payments Pro and Virtual Terminal received an email on Thursday informing them that fees were increasing effective September 1, 2007. There's been no announcement on the PayPal or eBay Website. Sellers use the services for processing payments for orders made through their websites and to process phone orders.

The letter told users that monthly service fees for Website Payments Pro and Virtual Terminal will increase from $20 to $30 per month. Transaction prices will remain at $0.30 per captured transaction, but a $0.30 fee will now also be assessed on all successful authorizations that have not been captured within 29 days.

I'll confirm it, I received the email, since I use Paypal Pro on the website. No hidden fees, though, like most merch accounts, so I'll stick with it.

Sure makes you weary. If it's feebay, it's usps & now paypal. Greed knows no bounds. Very hard to keep up with them. Figure every 3 months someone is gonna getcha! Think they're in cahoots? LOL

No biggie, frontporch, it's all part of doing biz :-) Nothing's going down, it's got nowhere to go but up. Just tack it on the back end and keep on movin', I do! $30 a month plus processing fees really isn't that bad.

I accept GCO payments, but only on Base or Ecrater sales. For the main site, where most of the sales come from, I prefer using the Virtual Terminal. GCO keeps some of my customers' info from me, and also can go into the bank account on a chargeback, so that's the reason I'm standin' pat.

Moving stuff around and am going to add Moneybookers, when I get set up. I sold 2 chains to a guy in Sweden this week, he gave CC info, but PP Pro is US only. I offered the guy GCO or PP, whichever he preferred, and he immediately sent a PP payment. Which tells me international buyers may have a PP account, but they want to pay in another method with their credit cards!

Hey, starting a post on international mailing/shipping in a sec, make sure and weigh in, Lammer!
