My current store is here: cohibastore.com

can i make the product layout 3 or more columns wide? most of my customers are using 1024x768 or larger and the single wide column i see in most of the stores will look pencil thin on their screens

In the store backend goto the menu products->list categories click on the category name

You should now see an option for "Show x products per row:" That is where you can put 3

Edit sorry I just now realized this is in the pre-sale thread. The answer is yes you can visually duplicate your store by editing your template and you can set your products to 3 columns. :D

You will probably have to change the formating of your current csv.xls file.

does that mean something as simple as moving columns around or something worse?

probably just moving columns around and maybe adding some. For example your csv file might not have a column for weight. Then you will have to add a column for weight and just give it a default value. Or for your images column you might have the whole path to the image in your csv file. You will then need to change it to just the name of the image because you don't need the whole path.

It does host the photos you just need to upload them to the /components/com_virtuemart/shop_image/product directory. If you do that you don't need to put the complete path to the photo because your store knows where to find them.

So I end up with listing but no photos, thats fine, I'm due to update most of them anyhow.

Does the system allow for a flat rate shipping charge? Some how some way a flat charge gets my customers excited and they spend more.

And tell me if they are the stores on a dedicated server? Sometimes PSU takes minutes to load or not at all.

How often are the sites down?

And last question - I can have google check out do all my payment transfers?

Thanks

Sorry I didn't see the post

Yes you can do a flat rate shipping charge.

I purchased a new server this weekend. (I was going to make an announcement once everything is moved) By the middle of this week all PSU stores will be on there own dedicated server. You might also notice that PSU has been loading a lot faster this week.

I am starting to get a little PSU server cluster going :D only problem its expensive :(

Yes you can have google checkout process all of your payments
