| Just wondering----I have been listing on Bidville for some time on their "free" listing method and have had a few sales. Of the five or six places I list I have found Bidville to be my personal favorite in terms of easy listing, re-listing, editing etc......My question is this: I was wondering if anyone has noticed a significant increase in sales after leaving the free listing for their paid store listing (I can't recall what they call it--the one with fees of close to a $100 per year). I am tempted to give it a try but wanted to get some feedback from others who have made the switch. I enjoy Bidville and hope we can really get it to move upward. Any ideas would be most welcome. Thanks to all. Bob |

I had a store almost from the beginning, and used mostly auctions and a few what-evers in the store.
Then when they offered the featured store with no fvfs in either place, just one fee per month, or 3 month or 1 yr, I hesitated..Until I evaluated what I spent in fvfs thru the year before and found the featured store a big value to me...
Bidville is feeding to Google take it items, so hence store items do show up on Google..
I have over 900 items in the store and about 500 items in auctions...
So in the end it pays me big time to use the store when it offers free gallery so have a lot of postcards there.
I get a lot of credits from referrals, so am able to use the gallery on 95 percent of my auctions with out any extra cost..
But even without gallery, when i'm checking out featured sellers daily, if the Title is good, then I don't need to see the picture, I will go in and look at the auction...
Sadly though most people do not work hard on the right keywords in their title...
A Widget just doesn't cut it on what the item is..
This is my take on it and do enjoy Bidville for the user friendly...
Some say the site doesn't work for them, but the sites they say work for them, doesn't for me, so it's really a toss up.isn't it.
Hope this helps. |

| Many-many thanks, Joan, for your thoughts and how the change works for you. After reading your response I believe I am getting closer to giving it a try. At 73 and not too brilliant in the computer world just hope it doesn't get too complicated in changing over. Certainly have enjoyed your messages in the past on this forum. Keep up the good works! |

A Store is well worth the money if you'd like to list alot and use Gallery Pics. But being honest I haven't seen much in the way of my sales increase or decrease when having one.
I do know that when I had my store I still needed to maintain at least a few auctions to lure people in so to say.
I am thinking of opening up one again, but haven't made up my mind yet. |

I started out with a non featured store to get my feet wet and eventually upgraded to the featured store. I found that the 10$ per month fee was more than reasonable and a very good value. It's also nice to not have to worry about final fees.
For me it was a no brainer. I have over 13,000 items in my store which all show up with gallery picture. Imagine that expense and .10 per pic. I still have auctions running. I have 3,000 auctions running compared to the store listings. At this time, probably about 95% of my sales come through my store.
Having a store also makes it easy to drop a link to your store all over the internet.
Being able to set up your own categories makes it easy for buyers to navigate also.
My first store sale was Oct. 04 and to date have had 741 orders. |
