Good afternoon.

I just have a question or two or three about the Hosted PSU Store solution.

Is a shared SSL included in the PSU Stores?

How often are backups done, and will I be able to physical save a local back-up copy on my PC?

Can the PSU store use OSCommerce instead of VirtueMart?

How many stores are currently sharing the same server or stored on the server?

Thank you for your time.

Hello
Yes we provide a shared SSL

Backups are done daily and you can also do your own backups which you can save to your PC.

The PSU Store can not use OSCommerce. The whole point of the PSU store is that it is a Jooma/VirtueMart setup that comes preinstalled and that we maintain the core files so you do not have to do any updates or patches to it.
You can sign up for our regular webhosting package called Power Hosting and you can install anything you want on it including OSCommerce.

We have a dedicated server just for the PSU Stores with plenty of available spaces on it. We do not over sell our servers.

Thank you for your quick reply.

I was only asking about OScommerce because my other two stores are running on it and I am familiar with it. Also, my www.fastmustangparts.com site is receiving at least or great traffic than psu according to quantcast.com Google is in love with me! So as you can imagine, I am quite excited.

But now I am looking for a home for a couple other business ventures. And I do not want all my eggs in the same basket.

I have been a member of PSU for quite some time, I just do not post much. I am on the site daily.

So I just need to decide if I want the pre-installed setup or the power hosting.

Thank you again.

congratulations on the success of www.fastmustangparts.com. You might also want to take a look at some other traffic analyzing sites besides quantcast.com like alexa.com for example. I would also not focus too much on the results because those traffic analyzing sites are not very accurate. You should use google analytics if you want accurate results.

Since you are familiar with OScommerce you should probably stick with it. That way you don't have to face a learning curve learning a new cart system. A lot of people feel the OScommerce is difficult for them that is why they choose the PSU Store setup. Since you known OScommerce that is not an issue. We do host several OScommerce sites with our Power Hosting package.

Thank you for the compliments.

Alexa is tainted to the fact that if you install the toolbar, you will get ranked higher. I have physically tracked that for about a year, so I do not put too much into that anymore. Quantcast is more, well, "independent" so more accurate than Alexa.

My site also has all that cool internal tracking stuff that has confirmed most of what Quantcast has reported.

My OScommerce experience is still somewhat limited as fastmustangparts.com/fastautosports.com both started somewhat as a cookie cutter setup where I was able to customize it over the last two years. But I do not know anything about installing it or adding different mods to see if they work or not and those kinds of things.

And I do not have two years to built up another site to achieve the required traffic for it to bring in a descent amount of profits.

That is why I am leaning towards your hosted psu stores. It appears to be a somewhat easy setup and already expandable.

I would like to know if somehow my site was lucky enough to get on Digg's frontpage, would your system be able to handle that type of traffic spike? Not saying that it would happen, but it would be nice to get that kind of traffic rolling through.

Thank you for all your help.

A lot of that depends on the number of images that you have on the page that is being linked by digg. We do caching and I know the database and web server should be able to handle it. Normal digg front page will not be a problem. now if it is one of those diggs with over 4000+ number of diggs you might have to optimize some stuff on the site like create a link to a static page etc...

Please explain what this is:

create a link to a static page

I just want to make sure we are talking about the same thing.

We are looking at about 7-8000 items each with at east one image each but no more than 3 or 4.

Thanks
