Hi All,

Does anyone know a good payment service, which also works with Canadian sellers? I'm sick and tired of paypal and all their fees.

I signed up for a Propay Canada account, thinking it would be wonderful, just to find out they only let me accept payment in Canadian funds. This is useless for me as my website, ebay, etc. are all in U.S. funds. I know for a fact after a few years of selling that most of my U.S. customers are not going to be happy to pay in Canadian funds.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks much,
Shelley

Thought I bump this up again.

Anyone have any experience with Moneybookers.com? - good or bad. It appears the fees are considerably less, they don't charge to receive money.

I had some discussions with Moneris about accepting both U.S and Canadian currency. They have the ability but it is a long drawn out affair and I remember thinking it was just too expensive in my case.

Can't remember the details. It was some time ago. But it may fit with your business, at least it's worth a phone call or an email.

Have been tracking various online payment sites, most of which are designed to support payments related to online auction sites.

Created a MoneyBookers account for my U.K. and EU customers, and I like the site (better than PayPal) but it took a fair amount of work to deposit an initial balance, wait for that deposit to settle, verify my mailing address, etc. They're fairly thorough in preventing the casual scam-artist from using their site.

I do get several phishing e-mails per week, masquerading as valid "Payment Received at Moneybookers" notifications. They don't have a spoof reporting capability.

My only regret was setting up my account in US$, wish I'd set up an account in Euros. Ah, well...

Thanks for the info Kenzy & Joint Runner - especially for that list of payment sites, very helpful. Moneybookers is looking like a good option for me if Propay can't sort out the currency issues. It looks like Moneybookers takes all types of currency, and doesn't charge an arm and a leg (and the rest of the body too!) like Paypal does for the currency exchange to Canadian$.
