I'm sure there is a reason, but Bidville sure isn't saying why. In fact, Bidville isn't saying anything about anything.
For seven consecutive days I have attempted to complete the seller registration process at Bidville to no avail. Part of the registration involves what Bidville calls VIP, whereby Bidville calls you by phone and provides you with a number that you are then supposed to insert into their website to finish up the registration and verification.
The problem is, the VIP phone call never happens. I've tried over and over and over during the course of seven consecutive days, and have not received the phone call.
For seven consecutive days, I have reported the issue to Bidville and the response has been underwhelming... there has been absolutely NO response.
It seems that the entire site is on some kind of auto-pilot. There's nobody at the helm. I've given up trying to register there, and I've given up reporting the problem.

What a shame. What a missed opportunity. eBay members are fleeing what Donahoe of eBay calls the "Flea Market" because of eBays recently announced changes. The boycott movement over there is gaining tremendous numbers of sellers, and the impact of the media coverage of this "event to be" is growing hourly, and squeezing eBay tightly. eBay is actually beginning to squirm. The once untouchable venue is feeling the pinch.
It will surely be interesting this time around.

thats really not a good sign, i much prefer the sites where community and forum activity is robust, not slammed shut.

| There was a lot of strife between members..I think Ubid got tired of paying for a monkey to click on the canned response key to all the tattletale emails. |

Looks like they can't/won't pay the monkey to respond to legitimate site issue problem reports either.

I do recall the forums over there being 'very lively'....
You talk about feuds - woooooo doggies.... it was very 'personal' and very 'entertaining'. Once in a while here, there would be a link to 'there' and it was shall we say - definitely not monitored well.
I'm all for an open forum too. There's was open for all to read until they took it down.
I'm not in favor of extreme 'monitoring' - I believe sellers need to have a place to ask for help, explore issues, etc. What really stinks is when a forum does remove posts that are considered 'complaining' but the seller is having a real issue/problem. Goodness forbid they come to another board 'here' or elsewhere and ask for help! You then become pond scum....
So - my point - that board 'needed to be shut down'. I've never seen anything remotely like it, and it made FAS and others look like a rose garden. |

Sad but true.
On the other hand, there are many alternative auction sites out there that have great forums and sales. I have found one and call it home. Others have found what works for them. It really starts with a lot of research and PSU is a great place to start that process.
Good luck you all searching.

Thanks. I would be interested to know if anyone has a way to contact a human at Bidville. I'm just about deaf, so the phone number that someone mentioned won't work for me.
It seems odd that a "closed society" such as Bidville is able to have so many listings, third place in fact (after eBay), according to the auction site count here at PSU. I'm assuming that the listing count is so high because sellers are having success there.
