This PSU Store sight sounds great to me but i just wanted to know if the sellers are selling anything and making money?
How are they found in search results? Are there key words?
I Heard Templates are pictures which do not get found while searching, so what methods do sellers use to attract buyers to the site?
I Need a real source of income.
Also on the Prostores ebay offers does anyone know if they are found in auction and store item search results on ebay?
Thanks
Clifford

No, prostores will not be easily found in a search, as they function the same as a store. I recently was solicited for business from a company called websitepros and it turned out they used prostores for their storefronts, and I questioned as to why I would need a regular website for a lead-in to the store and the guy at prostores told me that the stores are not searchable without it and it would cost me a bundle in advertisement.
I ended up ditching them, anyway, because the store looked aweful, websitepros couldn't seem to get the crap together and I really didn't want to give anymore business to ebay, because I felt that was defeating the purpose.
Good luck in your search! |

Yep!
I tend to sell higher quality items on my PSU store than I do at any of the alternative auction sites. Once it quits flooding here in TX I'm headed to the Post Office to ship out more stuff sold over the weekend from my PSU store :D
I've found you have to market yourself to make sales no metter where you choose to list your items. |

How does the PSU store work? Does it take the place of an auction site like eBay? And what is the cost to the user?
Is there a guide in here that I can just read? That would probably save some time for the Moderator. |

Here is the link for you, but I'm not sure of the cost...I don't think it is much, though! I'm considering it....my question is also how many email accounts are we allowed?
<--------------this link is also over there under "ecommerce details"....

edit: strike that email question...I just saw it! |

| Oh, ps...it is not an auction site...it is a fully functional ecommerce site (your own personal store). |

| The PSU Store is webhosting that includes an ecommerce shopping cart in which we handle all the updates and patches. Since it is your store there are no fvf or listing fees. |

Take your time there is a lot of stuff to learn about running your own ecommerce sites like PSU and other shopping cart packages. If your just coming off Ebay might want to look into some of the other auction sites listed here to get your products listed and back online right away.
Then you can spend your time learning about all the shopping cart options out there and what would best fit your business needs. PSU is one of many to choose from.
If your going to jump from Ebay to a ecommerce store, it might be overwhelming and frustrating if you do not know how to market online or understand the many things needed to run a store online.
PSU stores is providing a host with a shopping cart, but that's where it usually ends. Lots to learn and ecommerce sites do not usually produce sales instantly when they first open. May take months or longer depending on what you know about SEO's and all the rest of the things you will need to do with an ecommerce site.
There are some other options I hear that people are doing well on which is Ecrater, and Buy It Sell It. Both of those sites are ecommerce sites with hosting. You will still need to do the work to get the site out there and build traffic on your own. If you don't know how to submit your products to search engines or understand how to get listed on Googlebase; I would suggest signing up for some of the auction sites here and then take your time to research ecommerce sites before you get one. That way you would be more prepared to make a decision.
I have seen too many people getting shopping carts and ecommerce packages that they do not know anything about. I really don't like to see that happen and it defeats the purpose of taking back your own business and running your own site. Unless your willing to do a bit of work and spend time learning how to make the right decision for your business needs and pick the cart that best meets those needs.
It can get very costly, especially if the site is going to need a redesign, or the cart you installed isn't right for your specific business.
There are some great support forums out there for website owners to get started on looking at this stuff and what their options are. Check those out too and talk to some of the members there if that is something your really thinking about doing.
For auction sites that I believe are doing pretty good, Ubid, Plunderhere Your High Bid, are just a few good ones. People aren't going to hang around those sites for too long if they aren't making some sales. Seems there are members on those sites that have been there awhile.
If you need to make money quickly, I would recommend those auction site alternatives to at least get your stuff online while you do some more research on opening a ecommerce site. PSU is a great forum filled with tons of info and alternative resources. They have been around awhile, but they are a forum that provides support and resources for alternative sites and that should not be confused with them being a selling site. They offer a hosted/shopping cart package as one of those alternatives.
Then take your time as your business may or may not work well with a ecommerce site or at least you will have some time to explore your options since there are so many shopping carts like PSU has. You going to have to do everything you have never done before when selling on Ebay and that takes time to learn. |

Best advice I have been given since trying to wrap it up at Ebay after 8 yrs. 5 days and counting, my employment status (lol) with Ebay is over...I will be okay for three reasons, I am a survior, I love a challenge and smart enough to figure out the surviving part with time and alittle more education. Thanks :D |

:D I'm selling on my PSU store. I've been working every single day on it. I've changed the template 2 or 3 times, I've screwed up with the shipping module, and other modules. I've made mistakes. I come to the support board frequently. The support person answers questions almost immediately. It takes time to learn the ins and outs of a new site, and I'm still learning 4 months in.
But, if you've never had a site before, I recommend reading and researching first. It can be very frustrating if you don't know the terms and such.
Go with a couple free sites and check their alexa traffic rank and google rank as well as ease of use.
Good luck!! |

Thats alot of good data from you folks, Thanks!
I have been doing some research in the past weeks and considering Webidz because they have google checkout,
Keywords, and free bronze store but cldnt find out the cost of the next level up or has many items a bronze holds (they want you to sign up 1st) They have auto relist but no auto invoice.
I also considered OLA because they are $8.00/Mo and
have an 800#, but their store format is suggested you become a founding member @ $196 sign up then $96/yr
and i want to know about keywords. They say their store is an auction type listing where penny over=buy it now...
I guess with any of these you need a domain name 1st which i will likely go to godaddy for.
We are former ebayers, and had 706 items listed in our ebay store DC's Antiques and Collectibles
Pretty upset that only about 100 of thoes are in turbo due to a computer revamp, and ebay does not archive the items so i will have to spend maybe 6 months relisting items when i finally get a store going.
