Ebay Prostores VS PSu Stores And the winner is..
Does anyone know which is Better for Sales?
I was recently kicked off ebay for some negative feedback and 2 payout of eBay Standard Purchase Protection which occurred in 05/2006.
One was a Brand New Teac Product which we are authorized dealers for and another was a Linear tracking turntable which needed the wires in the tonearm reattached and was described & Pictured in EXACT detail and sold "as is" Ebay awarded them the claim even though we clearly stated NO refunds on that item.
Now they want me to send over $700.00 to the UK in Hopes they will review me and reinstate me. Only one of the items was in the UK but they want All of the Money sent there...
I did get an email letter from the USA ebay stating Dear Clifford,

Thank you for writing eBay in regard to your account restriction.

As noted in our previous message to you, your account was restricted for
violations of the eBay Seller Non-Performance policy. However, upon
further review, the decision has been made to reinstate all buying and
selling privileges.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Luc

But I still can not get on and i am sure it has to do with the Money the UK says i owe....

SO i need a way of making the Money i was used to via ebay.
If i sign up in my name for the ebay prostores i am sure they will catch me and halt my new sight. Correct? they say "an ebay affiliate company"
Then i was going to in my wife's former name but the billing address on the credit card is the same. so even if i get a PO box, we'd have to change the billing first on the ccd and even get a new phone number as this is required imformation.
I'm all messed up for income lately and extremely low on funds and sold only a few things on craigslist, and made a few bucks as a plumber from craigslist ads;
and have checked out many different webstores that i create and pay for. And consulted web developers which say they use templates when you do it yourself, which reduces searchability.

HELP ME i'm drowning. I Need some Positive input on Ideas.

I saw the List of Auction/Storesites ratings 1 Ebay 2 overstock 3 Webiz 4 Amazon ( i have 57 Listings there & no sales) 5 Epier 6 bidalot 7 OLA
which seems good on fees but sales seem low and i ddnt want to waste time listing with no results....

Thanks for any GOOD ideas you can give me via email or answering this posting...

Does PSU Submit your site to search engines, or is it up to the store owner to advertise? If so what are some suggestions?

It is up to the owner to advertise. To get your site added to the search engines all you need to do is post links to your site in blogs, posts, signatures, etc and the search engine bots will pick it up and start indexing your site.

You can also use http://www.google.com/addurl/ to manually add your site to google.

What kind of Blogs? (there must be a kazillion of them out there) posts, signatures? To really sell bigtime, once the site is up how long would it take to really advertize the heck out of the site? And How long to start selling?
I Had 706 listings on ebay but only about 110 in turbo
so It would take maybe 5 months to get all my ads going again on a site such as this...

Ps i have ads on Google base(no sales), Amazon(no sales) Pa Homepage (No sales) and Craigslist ( a few sales) I have listed with many other sites with no sales and hate wasting time listing with no results...

Thanks for the google link

That is really up to you. It is your own store and website so all the advertising is up to you. You can submit the products in your store to google base to help on exposure.

No, unlike ebay and all of the other online auction site/stores. HERE you must do your own work if to make sales using your OWN web store/site.
I link to google, msn and aol almost daily and if time allows, several times a day.

How do you link to MSN and AOL?

kygary02 - the best way to get exposure to MSN and AOL is to submit your store link to their search engines.

Submit to MSN

Submit to Google

I can't find the link for AOL, but will keep searching for it! :D :D

Note: the google submit is for the google search engine; not the googlebase or google products area(s).

I would avoid the prostores like the plague... they do not promote your store.... If you are under the impression they do they do not!

Prostores are basically your own website only they charge you alot more for it and trust me when I tell you that if they see you making money they will find a way to get more out of you! And once you setup a webstore it is a great bit more difficult to relocate than it is to relocate your auctions.... There is far too much involved!

And god forbid they find a way to tie up your domain name.... I would not trust ebay with a piece of scrap paper that my cat chewed on!

In all the searching I do on my items I've yet to see an ebay pro store come up in google. And I know there are some that sell china and collectibles. So either people don't know how to add themself to the searches or think that ebay is doing it for them.

I looked into the prostores and from what I could tell they were extremely expensive. I think the only ones that actually show up in the ebay searches are the express stores and they limit the amount of items you can list.

Honestly if you just want to add stuff to a store and not mess with customizing it I would look at one of the PSU stores, BISI, or Tias

I have a Tias store that is doing quite well. You get the added traffic of the Tias mall. But you are kind of limited to what you can post.... it's only antiques and collectibles. Customizing it is expensive and you can only accept a merchant account or paypal easily.... They are not using google checkout yet. They are looking into it but I think paypal is giving them a hard time. Also you pay a monthly fee + 10% of any sales over $400.00 a month. I like Tias but now that I'm off ebay I'm getting sick of paying final value fees... to be honest with you!

So I'm working on a BISI store right now.... which is free unless you want to do custom stuff. Personally what I'm finding from a BISI store is their backend is kind of light on the info I need to keep track of..... ie... cost, storage location etc.. I have thousands of dishes and patterns and if I can't have a location of where it's stored I'm dead in the water! I'll never find it after it's listed.

So now I'm looking at PSU... this looks alot more robust from the outside and I won't have to do the hard backend work... finding a shopping cart etc. which can be a real pain and really expensive!
