I am an eBay seller looking for a better site to go on and every time I look on Bidville I run into the same problems. I sell dolls, so I bring up the doll catagories and every time I click on one, say the Pre-1973 Barbies to look at the auctions, nothing happens. I try almost every doll one on there and can't look at any auctions. Does anyone else run into this problem????
If so I can see
why no one has any bids on their auctions.

Sounds like either a glitch or there's nothing listed in that particular catagory.
Have you looked at any of the other alternative online auction sites?
Check the auction count on the lafthand side of the page here and look at a few others.
Obviously if the BV search is not working properly, you'd not want to post your items over there.

Hopefully someone with more selling experiece at BV can better answer your question.
BTW, I've moved your OP from "web payment services" TO the "bidville auction site discussion" Index.

Hi there,
Did you go to the catagories because this section gives you all the listings.
Under dolls and bears it shows how many items to the right of the type of doll that is for sale.
Try this and see if you see all listed.

http://browse.bidville.com/browse/?index=6&cid=8&cn=Dolls+%26+Bears

It's a great place to sell on very user friendly,
Joan

That is why I wonder if others have the same problem. Do you get a lot of sales on your site on Bidville? If you ever get any postcards of victorian era of any children with dolls in them, let me know. I collect any old postcards of children holding dolls.
Thnks again,

If you've been selling at Ebay, BV will be a rude shock. Sales are really poor, customer service is nonexistent, and nothing works right. Furthermore, with the company stock at rock bottom, it could close any day-or maybe already has and no one noticed. JMHO as a former seller there who stuck with them for 6 years before giving it up as a lost cause. Read some of the threads here..

Hey Texas. Gee, I hope not. I'm starting to see some sales there. Of course it's sports cards and that seems to be the ticket over there. Would be just my luck that they pull the plug.

Sales are booming for me, can't see any problems.

Just keep getting sales on sales. And I've been there since Jan 2001.

To each his own, the site works well for me!!!!

I sell everything but the kitchen sink almost, can't complain one bit.

Sales aren't "booming" for me...but they are picking up lately. Seems there has been more traffic lately. Hopefully, that trend will continue.

Well, sales are what they are. Some items sell well at Bidville and some don't. This has always been the case. Sportscards continue to sell extremely well.

March has been a record setting month for sales for me and the month is not over yet.

Bidville, according to some, has been on its deathbed for 7 years now, yet it still keeps plugging along.

The real keys to selling on Bidville is to offer a good product at a reasonable price, not gouge on shipping and self promotion. Once you get a customer base built up, the sales are there.

True, Bidville could be so much better. You have two choices. Give it all you got and be satisfied with your effort regardless of the outcome, or, look for greener pastures.

I have been with Bidville since Jan, 2001. They are a Very Slow traffic site. Its what I know, but as far as making ALOT of sales, they come in very slowly there. But in my case, I sell vintage items and None of my items are in the Gallery, so it is VERY HARD for people to view them without having to click into each and every item. I have over 4900 items listed at bidville and without them being in the gallery, its just too hard to see them. They charge for the gallery.

Years ago, Bidville use to put your items in their Gallery, FREE of charge, but no more. I sold more when all my items were in the gallery.

There CS team is really SLOW, and they use to be ALOT better years ago. So from my point of view, Bidville is an OK Site, but NO HEAVY traffic there.
They did get frustrated in the past and CLOSED all their Community boards, it was a hassle for them.
So there is NO COMMUNICATION when it comes to talking to other members there.

I did see that people who are selling Fabric, and cheaper sportscards probably do better.

Bidville takes 5 percent your final sale, but at least they are NOT touching your S/h fee.

Ioffer is now taking some of your S/h fee. One more thing, BIDVILLE is notoriously for Glitches too, Alot of the time the Photo Upload does not work, Just recently that Function was down for almost 9 days.

Hi jcut...

Well, one of the famous glitches is going on right now. Went to make a payment and when paypal did the redirect it said "unfortunately, blah blah blah" you know the drill. Soooo, my payment didn't credit. Can't relist either.

Ellie & Postman How are you both doing? Seems like we always meet on the boards :) Yep good old Bidville and its problems. The Uploader stopped working yesterday or the day before. All day today, no such luck in uploading my photos. But oh well, this has been happening with Bidville for about 2 years now.

Just wish they would PAY more Attention to their Site. Meaning Customer Service!

Take care guys...
