| I am looking for website hosting suggestions. I know there are a lot of people here that have websites so I figured I would come here first. To let you know what I am looking for, is a non- store, but maybe in the future, it is more for informational site in the law enforcement area, aka a new missing person elite search team that needs to keep in contact with each other, that will be going national in a few months. I need to be able to upload tutorial videos, like moodle, it has to have password protected pages accessible only to charter members and case workers and it has to be reliable with great uptime..... and yet it has to be simple for the person I am building it for who is completely computer illiterate, so that he can access it and add information as needed. I have looked at different sites but just can't pin one down so maybe if you all give me your input that would be great! Thanks in advance for your advice |

| I ran into many favorable recommendations for Liquid Web yesterday. I saw an article somewhere about how google was helping (maybe) the FBI or CIA integrate their spy databases. I don't think sitesell would be right for the database portion (though I could be wrong), but if your goal were an information site that would get seen by the general public, they would probably be of great help. That's about all that comes to my mind. |

| I have websites at both places in my signature. BlueHost is a bit more robust than 000webhosting, but 000 is totally free and provides an excellent basic package. BlueHost has toll free customer phone support, which you may find very helpful. And there are perks on the hosting (advertising, etc) that are worth more than a years worth of hosting - though those things may not be important to you at this time. BTW, just so you know, my banners are affiliate banners, if you decide to try either one I benefit from your participation. So if you're interested and use one, thanks! If not, thanks for looking and best good luck w/ your endeavor! |

I've been with Netfirms for about 7 or 8 years now and I've never had a real problem with them, just a few things that I didn't understand how to do.
I don't know just how you want to set-up the site, but I think Netfirms has enough types of programs you would find something that would work.

I use http://www.charlottezweb.com/
I've never had a problem with their servers, and I have even received help outside the scope of their obligation to clients. Their pricing is very competitive and I highly recommend them. |

| Well, a little bit of shameless self-promotion. If you don't mind doing a few posts for your package, http://kh3.us has some really nice plans and best of all it's free! You can read the testimonials there to see what others have thought. |

This might be useful:
http://web-hosting.domaintools.com/
Web Hosting reviews by domaintools.com - they don't say how they choose the "top" web hosting companies, but the breakdowns are still educational and give an idea of costs and services and types of hosting. |
