Hi all...

I'm seeking a reasonably priced, used, discriminating type metal detector that is used for locating both ferrous and non-ferrous metal. Something that would be used for finding coins, artifacts, and other metal objects. Perhaps a GARRETT 250.

Thanks!

keep in mind that's only 1 out of 3 (because of Google built-in CSE limitations) actually available on the domains in my search, but it might give a starting point.

I have a Bounty Hunter metal detector available. I have it on ePier with a starting bid of $69.99 and a BIN of $84.99. To see the specs here's the link:

http://www.epier.com/BiddingForm_edit.asp?1706515

I accept cards through Google Checkout -- also MOs and cashier's checks.

Please let me know whether it's of interest.

Thanks!

I'm going to pass on this one, but I want to thank you for taking the time to bring it to my attention.

ive seen this avatar on the metal detecting forums, perhaps an metal detectorist looking for a deal?

anyways.. the ace 250 is a good unit for the money. i own one and its pretty decent but isnt too accurate on pinpointing. the problem gets worse with the larger coil. still not a bad unit for the money.

Thanks...

the garrett ace250 is very easy to use, its easy to get up and running and its light. downsides are that it has NO volume control so you have to use headphones that have a volume control on them and the pinpointing is not accurate. it also has only one tone.

you may home in on a target and have it dead center on the coil but when you dig you find you're an inch or two off. the problem is more pronounced with the large coil. i have read that this is a common issue with this unit.

for the price, you cant beat it. i have a fisher coinstrike, a tesoro tiger shark and the garrett ace250. the 250 is fun to use and real light. another thing is it uses cheap AA batteries and they last a long time.

a real cool feature of the ace250 is the ability to notch out a variety of signals. so say your looking for an earing someone just lost. you take the one they still have and swing on it. look at your signal. notch everything out around that signal. no you can go looking for that earing without getting hits on other objects. of course this isnt 100% but it does save lots of time.

An aside - a Gunbroker.com auction with a BIN price was in Google Product search. I was surprised.

The above presented as a public service announcement

Thanks again... based on your recommendation and on some other reviews I've read, I did decide to go with the Garrett Ace 250. I ended up buying one that had extras included... 2nd search coil, carry case, digging tool, coil covers, etc. $297.00 delivered.

Should be here next week.

Darn. I should have looked at this earlier. I have had two White's detectors with great success. But your Garret will be fine. Good luck. It's a lot of fun.
