We just checked is it a big problem when on bidville it shows invalid thawte certificate? and even with truste it says invalid ....
www.bidville.com IS NOT A VALID TRUSTe MEMBER WEB SITE

what does this mean?
does it mean we should not put credit or debit card or even paypal on their site?

I have no troubles have been there since 2001 and use a credit card to pay my fees, and that invalid thing has never ever given me a problem.
When I do go to personal stuff it shows up, but my
https://secure.bidville.com
always shows up, so have to presume ubid just hasn't updated.
I don't worry one bit about it.

The last time ubid let the certificates lapse a mysterious programming glitch involving member credit cards occured.

And when was that time, in all my years there, I have never ever had a credit card problem, the card is always updated when needed, and I have never been overcharged or had a problem.
I do pay attention to my business at Bidville though.

Just because you haven't personally experienced a problem doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Do you not recall the problem that was reported on BVs home page in red type regarding the credit card issue? Do you not understand that the credit card issue was discovered after the security seal problem was uncovered? Even though there was no admission on the part of management in as far as the site certificates causing the credit card issue, they responded to the crisis by making BV secure. Here we go again

Why does a site you will not sell at, bother you so much.

Joan,

Bidville is displaying TWO invalid certificates. If you feel that BV is safe, that's fine. I disagree with you based on what happened the last time they let their certificates lapse.

Why do you have such a problem allowing others to share their own experiences, good or bad, without getting all testy about it? If BV management is so wonderful why do you need to defend them at all?

I think I can ask you the same question!

No, you can't, because I'm not testy or emotional about BV. You, on the other hand, are. That's not going to stop me from posting my opinion, however. You'll just have to get over it ;)

Seems uBid is still not paying attention to BidVille, but they look elsewhere for potential business. Simply incredible and I look for a new owner within next 4 Months. They bought an address list-aka email address's it seems?, how mindless was that.
