I typed in www.bidville.com and it took me to google! Do you think this is the big "lights out" this time?

It may and will hurt sellers, but it would be best to go bye bye. Site is a disgrace mainly because they treat their customers like dirt, no respect.

Hey Ellie and viewit, go to the other thread. Yes I was saying the same thing. What happened to BV? They really are sucking these days. What the heck are they doing? Is everyone on vacation?

Boy if they've pulled the plug I am not going to be a happy camper, and I bet I won't be the only one. IMHO you would think some form of communication with their customers (buyers and sellers alike) would go a long way. Hate to say it but viewit is probably right. A total lack of support from managment for years can't expect them to worry about us now.

When I try to log in, it reads OOPS can't find the website your looking for. I use IE. So as far as Communication goes, they have been lacking that for along time. They could give a rats ass about their own site. I am a totally devoted user of that site, and extremely disappointed in what they have done to the members there. No respect and absolutely NO SUPPORT. They could care less if we are inconvenienced in anyway. They would be better off closing, but probably can't for some reason. I am mad at how they treat us. In my opinion they are all asleep at the wheel.

Hopefully it is just a glitch. PH had one the other day.

If not, you guys have 1,000,000 listings between you all. Maybe you can get together and start to looking to mve together. Knowing that BV's status was uncetain anyway, hopefully most of you had a "sortie" in place should something like this happen so you could meet up again.

I doubt they would have just shut it all down. It's like any business - the customer base is often as vaulable as the product. For uBid to get top dollar when they put it up for sale, they need to keep it functioning.

I recall something like this suggested to be looked into when the BV sale subject came up. I sure hope most of you did your backups. Maybe you can put your heads together here. There are sites that would be ecstatic to have the lot of you.

greywolf, anything is possible. I have been selling online since Aug. 1997 so you can imagine all the sites i have sold on. I use to sell on a site called Up4sale.com and it was a very productive site. One day they just up and closed so its possible thats forsure. I was also doing very well, when Yahoo auctions up and closed, so its highly likely in the future that BV will eventually do the same. Sad but true.

Problem is in finding a site that would be compatable for all sellers. While the bulk of my items are sports cards I sell t-shirts and other items as well. BV was the first site other than ebay where I sold items and actually made a profit. Guess that spoiled me a little along with a very user friendly site. (when it's running right)

Frank, open up an ecrater store. Alot better than bidville. Try to find something that suits you. At least with Ecrater, you can depend on yourself, instead of depending on them. Ecrater would work for you on what you sell.

At this very moment BV is open and you can get into it. Not sure if it will last. Go try.

jcut - I totally hear ya! I've been on eButt since '98, and with Bidville pretty much as long. I would just think as a business, uBid would be smart enough not to completely devalue their "real estate."

Grey...your right, so what do you think? Why do they disregard BV so much? Do you think its a non profit company for them. Why not sell BV to someone who cares about their members. Oh your an old timer at ebay, you got 10 years with them. Me too. I started out years ago selling beanie babies on ebay, back when they were popular. That was fun.
