CHICAGO, May 23, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ ----uBid.com Holdings Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: UBHI), the leading asset recovery solutions company for the world's most trusted brands, today announced the decision to close its consumer-to-consumer auction website Bidville.com due to uBid.com Holdings' recent strategic change to focus on liquidating excess inventories.
Bidville.com's consumer-to-consumer model does not fit within uBid.com Holdings' recently streamlined strategy to provide comprehensive asset recovery solutions to its brand-name partners through a multi-channel sales model.
"We recently introduced a new, more focused business strategy," said uBid.com Holdings CEO Jeff Hoffman. "uBid.com Holdings is now a multi-channel asset recovery solutions provider. Clearly, our expertise is in a business-to-consumer marketplace dealing only in certified supply. We are simply not equipped to run a C-to-C marketplace like Bidville.com."
Guests may still register for the Bidville.com website via the "Register Now" button, which will remain active and allow users to bid in open auctions until June 13, 2008, when existing auctions must close. No new auctions may be listed as of May 27th and existing sellers have until June 27th to complete transactions. Prorated refunds will be available to sellers who provide their username, email address, and amount due in an email to refunds@bidville.com.
"We certainly appreciate everything the Bidville community has contributed. And, of course, if current B-to-C Bidville sellers fit our excess inventory solutions model, we hope they will find uBid.com a viable alternative," concluded Hoffman.

| 22 Months of nothing leads to nothing. Bite the bullet sellers, it hurts but is best for all. |

As if Dr. Ed did not know that the members would get nothing from a uBid ownership.
Sleep well. |

Rhonda - I do not have a store of my own....I got friends who keep telling me it's the way to go, but I'm 'afraid' and very lacking of 'think time' - RL stuff flying all around me.
I know there are many here who have PSU stores! I think if you research it and then asked, most would consider them successful. My point - start a thread to collect feedback and then 'go' !
Another site I've got my eye on currently is the BISI site. I joined, but haven't yet had time to 'do anything'. It does have a slightly different look/feel/function to it, so it peaked my interest.
I am on PH, and am doing OK there! Slower now than it's been, but that is typical for my stuff.
Good luck with your transition - I'm sure many others will also be in need of ideas, suggestions, etc. |

What took them so long, was it the owners musical chairs. |

They are obviously looking to gain more via a tax write off of their investment than they could gain by selling the site to potential suitors. While it may be good for them, it's a typical sh**ty way for a corporation to treat the subscribing sellers.
Sorry guys and gals, they declined to discuss selling the site to me on more than one occasion. They had no interest in even discussing the possibility. |

I posted this on the other BidVille Closing thread. Some people had asked me to look into the possibility of uBid being open to offers for the BidVille site.

I wonder if they are going to bother emailing the members. I'm guessing not since they don't give a carp. There are so many sellers over there that don't come here to know about it. They are going to be hit out of the blue with this.
Hey viewit...thanks for giving us the heads up so we can be prepared.
This just totally sux...I was doing okay there and had lots of people signing up. |

It would be a shame for them to cut off members without any notice...
I hope that their members will be able to find other "homes" for their items.
