This is sad news about Bidville shutting down. I'm on Blujay but was looking at Bidville and OLA recently in case I wanted to run some auctions. I would assume many would want auction format and might go to Ola and/or start own website? If any seek free store format with no fees, you're welcome to visit blujay because I found out about Bidville closing when a few sellers have introduced themselves on Blujay. If that's not for you there's alternative sites as well like Ola, BISI, and Plunderhere and probably forgetting a few. I haven't heard much enthusiasm/positive things anymore for Wagglepop and Ioffer.
I sincerely wish a smooth transition and much success to all. It's so dam.ed frustrating to put time and effort into a place and they pull the darn rug out from under your feet where you have time vested, your customer base, and a lot of hard work and effort. |

| I was just on Bidville now and I didn't get the news of them Officially Closing just yet. I have been with Bidville since they first launched years ago. Where are you getting your info from? If its from the Messages boards, it sounds like a rumor. I mean they could close, but as of right now, they are OPEN with no news of them closing. I am also a Blujay and Ecrater user, I love Blujay, but ecrater has been extremely slow for me. |

CHICAGO, May 23, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ ----uBid.com Holdings Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: UBHI), the leading asset recovery solutions company for the world's most trusted brands, today announced the decision to close its consumer-to-consumer auction website Bidville.com due to uBid.com Holdings' recent strategic change to focus on liquidating excess inventories.
Bidville.com's consumer-to-consumer model does not fit within uBid.com Holdings' recently streamlined strategy to provide comprehensive asset recovery solutions to its brand-name partners through a multi-channel sales model.
"We recently introduced a new, more focused business strategy," said uBid.com Holdings CEO Jeff Hoffman. "uBid.com Holdings is now a multi-channel asset recovery solutions provider. Clearly, our expertise is in a business-to-consumer marketplace dealing only in certified supply. We are simply not equipped to run a C-to-C marketplace like Bidville.com."
Guests may still register for the Bidville.com website via the "Register Now" button, which will remain active and allow users to bid in open auctions until June 13, 2008, when existing auctions must close. No new auctions may be listed as of May 27th and existing sellers have until June 27th to complete transactions. Prorated refunds will be available to sellers who provide their username, email address, and amount due in an email to refunds@bidville.com.
"We certainly appreciate everything the Bidville community has contributed. And, of course, if current B-to-C Bidville sellers fit our excess inventory solutions model, we hope they will find uBid.com a viable alternative," concluded Hoffman. |

| Lady...yes I had read that, I was typing here while your message came in. Yes thats exactly what I had read. Oh well, I guess all of us thought it was coming right? Now everyone besides me that has talked about Bidville for so long needs to know, since BIDVILLE was not kind enough to email their members and let them know. |

Lady, ya know what? I have been a devoted seller of BV since they opened over 7 years ago. Would it be a common Courtesy to let us know. Funny how I have to come here to find this crap out. They are so Disrepectful to us. It really makes me mad, If you go to my listings over at Bidville you will see I have over 4900 items listed and now isn't that a Complete shame that they couldn't tell us. Or at least put it on the front page of their website. They are totally Full of Shi..in my eyes. I am really mad that they are not announcing it to their members.
What a crock of !!
I am very glad I come here. It really keeps my eyes open. Thanks to you and Classic. |

Seems eBid is going to go from strengh to strengh as the only place that talks to its members.
All you bidville boys & girls really should have a look at ebid, 1million+ items and free listings. |

| I think you have to sell New things at ubid, anyhow I am kinda thru with the owners of Bidville, they weren't very nice to the sellers. I doubt I will follow them or deal with them anytime soon. |

Not Ubid
northstreet mentioned eBid
eBid is a UK based site that is doing OK for some members. Like all alts, it depends on what you are selling. You also need to watch for a "special" on their seller + to get the best deals on listing.
Yah, it's a shame about BV. Just do your best to get your listings exported thru their lister. Don't try your whole list all at 1 time as the lister is a bit glitchy like most of the rest of the neglected site.

| Yes I have been with blujay and ecrater for awhile, but SINCE BV never informed the sellers, there are 1000's of sellers that don't even know they are closing. So how much time will they have to get their listings in order and to grab them? An email would of been nice from the CS team at BV. There a joke! |

| I have also been there since God knows when. They were named auxpal when I joined. I just found out from a member here that they are closing. What a joke! They couldn't at least post something? I have to move over 4000 items. |

| Thunder, me too, When I first opened up my listings at Bidville, Yahoo was then starting to charge, So I switched and made the move over to Auxpal. Then within a year they changed their name. You and I both have lots of listings there. Like I stated in this thread, there are ALOT if not MOST of the sellers that are not aware of their closing. |
