Welcome to Bidville.com. Bidville is owned by uBid.com Holdings Inc., and due to uBid.com Holdings Inc.’s changing business strategy that includes dealing exclusively in certified supply, Bidville unfortunately no longer fits within the uBid.com Holdings Inc. business model. uBid.com Holdings Inc. has streamlined its operations and is a business to consumer excess inventory solutions company, which makes uBid.com Holdings, Inc. unable to support Bidville’s consumer to consumer format.

Due to these changes, we regret to inform you that, after a rigorous search for a potential buyer of Bidville, uBid.com Holdings Inc. was unsuccessful in finding a suitor. As a result, Bidville will be closing.

As of today, May 27, 2008, no additional auctions will be listed and no new sellers will be certified. Guests can still register for Bidville through the “Register Now” button, which will remain active and allow users to bid in open auctions until June 13, 2008, when existing auctions will close.

Bidville will be closing in phases, so here are some important messages regarding the closing process:

As of Tuesday, May 27, 2008 –

No new sellers will be allowed to register with Bidville.com
No new auctions will be listed
Auctions will not automatically re-list
Guests can still register and bid in open auctions
“My Bidville” tab will remain active for users and store owners to access information
As of Friday, June 13, 2008 (2 weeks later)
All auctions will close
No new guests will be allowed to register
The Bidville.com site will officially close and anyone searching for the site will be re-directed to a promo page sponsored by uBid.com Holdings Inc., explaining the closing of Bidville.com
“My Bidville” tab will remain open to finalize sales and access information

As of Tuesday, July 1st, 2008 (approximately 3 weeks after closing)
All transactions must be completed at this time
“My Bidville” tab will become inactive
We hope Bidville sellers who fit uBid.com Holdings Inc.’s B-to-C excess inventory solutions model will find uBid.com a viable option. For seller information, please visit www.ubid.com/sell.

Prorated refunds will be issued by sending an email request including your username, email address, and amount due to refunds@bidville.com. The deadline to submit a refund request is June 27, 2008.

Once again, uBid.com Holdings Inc. wishes to express its utmost appreciation to the Bidville community and wish you all the best in the future.

Thank you

I think that if the supposition that UBid intends to claim Bidville as a loss to the IRS is right, Mongoose should advise the IRS that he approached Bidville about a consortium of users buying the place, and that he was summarily rebuffed.

Yah, what a crock of BS.

Just another site that speaks out of both sides of it's mouth. I guess a course in BS must be a "pre-req" for a business degree now days.

I miss the days of when a contract was made it was adhered to. Oh I know this means I'm old...keeping promises...telling the truth. Yes, there was time that these were the norm. The charlatans were run out of town by the good honest people. Now it seems honesty is too rare. Big business owners just trample their customers and lie to get more dollars. I honestly don't know how these people can sleep at night.

What a sad world this has become.

Another one bites the dust!!! I do not see any auction sites equal to Ebay as of yet. I am making my own website and going on Ruby Lane until I find oneeee equal to ebay. :(

Ebay as you know it is going bye bye. It's a level playing field for Alt sites for the first time in a decade. Rejoice! No more auction monopoly!

I'm glad uBid has announced their decision on the Home page. Now I only think they suck for wasting a great little auction site for so long just to close its doors as a tax write off in the end.

Ubid can kiss my you know what. Ubid did absolutely nothing for the betterment and progress of Bidville. And, now they hope Bidville sellers will sign up with them. What a joke.

The only contact we have had with them in what, over a year, has been to tell us they are kicking us out.

Bidville could have been and still could be a gold mine, if, we could get someone with some brains to run it.

Wonder if they will give refunds on a per month store fee that was only running about 20 days per month? But, they still collected the fee.

I had an issue with forgetting to make my payment this month. Got the on hold notice and paid my fee that day. Payment did not go through. So, I called. Called everyday for a week trying to catch up with the ONE person who dealt with Bidville and still never spoke to them. Finally, a week after making my payment, my account was re-opened. So, I lost a week of my store, not counting the times they were down. Still managed 204 sales.

The sorry part about this is that people were selling there, some quite well.

So, to make a long story short, my parting shot

Ubid, you are a classless act. There are suitors out there for Bidville. You are too inept to run the place, let someone else try. You obviously do not care about Bidville or its loyal members. My sincere hope is that you fall flat on your face and your site goes straight to you know where.

7 years of smooth driving and all it takes is to get one idiot behind the wheel and whammo, you crash.

"...Mongoose should advise the IRS that he approached Bidville..."

The IRS doesn't care. There are a myriad of legitimate and acceptable legal reasons as to why a corporation would elect to simply close or write off an asset rather than sell it. The IRS will just accept the decision, based an a realistic value to be written off, and let it go.

I'm sure that it's much more advantageous financially for uBid to write off BidVille than they could possibly hope to receive by selling it.
