....I HAVE ARRIVED!!!! :D
Ok seriously, now that bidville is closing, where is everyone going? I have about 15,000 sports cards I need to list somewhere. I was thinking of going to Naxcom Auctions, but if you all know a better place, please share. (they gotta have a bulk-lister though... doing all these 1 by 1 will kill me :D |

Not sure if you are looking for an auction site, or an online store.
I have not registered, but like what I have been hearing about
Online Auctions. (I do not know the details of this site.)
If you are looking for more of an actual website, BuyItSellIt is free.
You can upgrade to paid levels, but everything you need to get started
is available in the basic/free level.
It has been very easy for us to list items, and the support is fantastic.
(Why am I giving this information to my competition?)
Anyway, good luck, and let us know where you end up.
We will just let our last few items fade into the sunset on Bidville.

Perhaps try out several different sites to see which one would work best for your items....
Just my opinion..

| Just got a note from Naxcom and they will transfer your Bidville rating to their site. |

If you list them on ebid.net - with at least 7 days to run- and a BIN price as well as (or instead of) your auction start price, ebid will upload them to google products for you for free.
ebid are offering Bidville sellers free seller+ membership just now, and free feedback importing- so it's a great time to move |

I think sellers will be looking at sites that have categories in place for sport card and memorabilia sellers.
There are some sites out there that have no clue about the American Sports Card Collecting mindset and how categories should be set up and arranged.
DelCampe is a great niche site for collectibles but as I mentioned on a previous post, they need input from an American collector on how to arrange their categories. eBid is another site that is not set up to sell sporting memorabilia on.
It occurred to me that might be making a difference with where people are migrating to. On the poll, BV members were overwhelmingly migrating to Free Marketplace sites and I look at BluJay and eCrater and they have the categories in place already to accomodate former BV users. That might be the main reason they are using those 2 sites.
Currently eCrater has over 32,000 sports cards listed while BluJay has over 11,000 listed. This is only sports cards and does not include the rest of the memorabilia.
I did a search for "baseball card" on eBid and there were only 54 results returned. The same search on DelCampe only returned 130 matches. |

I have been migrating to Blujay. The stores at Bidville were awesome and easy to use. Blujay's store set up is very similar to Bidvilles. Custom categories are a must for sportscard sellers.
Bidville really dropped the ball by not branching into a sportscard and memorbilia niche site. I myself sold over 10,000 cards in the 7 years I was there and I was on the low end. Not only would they have a base inventory of almost 1,000,000 cards, once the word got out, that number would have risen even more. |

I agree with you on both counts. BluJay is a beautiful and easy to use site for both buyers and sellers bar none (and that includes eBay).
Also, BV did drop the ball. They didnt realize what they had on their hands. As a sports memorabilia niche site they would not have had 1 million listings but closer to 3 million would be my guess. Too bad we'll never know. |
