I initially opted for a recommended host and set up my website which I maintain myself... This explained I really am such a novice when it comes to technical jargon. I have been loyal to the current one for five years, basically as I felt safe because I could handle my files & upload them etc & I knew what I was doing...
I am so confused now that I dont know where Im coming from at the moment..
I feel that I am being charged a collosal amount in addition I selected a facility known a seo .. which I pay for monthly... I wasnt aware at the time that I had to pay for it .. However, I did, so my mistake (another)
Although I pay every six months for the hosting I am also charged I suppose its called a rental for my domain in addition to another domain that I selected and have never used..plus this seo charge.. I have asked if they would reduce my package & that i didnt require this seo... The emails that have been coming back have me really messed up now as I havent a clue where to look even, let alone change my package...
Oh great! this is turning into a book ..sorry... Basically I want to escape and take my websites with me. If I havent bought the Domains can I do that? Im not sure if I have bought them either.. Oh what an absolute dork I am :cry:
Do I leave things be and continue to feel unhappy about the charges or go for it with someone else? I really do not want to lose my domain and I suppose thats the problem lurking at the back of my mind |

| did you pay for your domains? if so they are yours to transfer to any host you want to, dont be fobbed of by these guys, did you get them to build your site for you and include the domain name in the package? if so that may be a prob as i think you may have to wait till expiry of the domain name before you can transfer it |

| lol dont panic there is always a way around it read my post above if they haven't built your site and included the domain name shouldnt be too much of a prob :D |

I actually created my own website and they just host what I created basically... But Im really not sure if I own the Domain or rent is.. I pay each quarter so i suspect that I dont own the one in use or the other which is on standby.. Oh god! what a mess hey |

| i hate peeps that do that, my OH had the same problem thats why i know that, sorry :( you just have to be very wary theres alot of rip off guys about, just pm me if you want a bit of advice i'm sure there are a lot of peeps here that can also offer advice so chin up :D you can beat em |

I think poss there is... Im so mesmerised by it all that a friend has promised to read up on it for me... It just mind boggles me all round
